Non-moving top 5 - hooray, as I obviously had no mids to base any prep off. I suspect there will be no new entries in the top 40 (possibly even the top 100) so that'll be it for the albums this week.

This is just getting silly now... can all these acts have their own chart and leave the rest for everyone else to enjoy?

We've still got more to come :drama:

Sam and Ed need to go away in 2015...only for someone else to clog up the charts for the next 12 months!!

Ed sold over 200k albums again this week!

wow! I imagine X is on its way to outsell + in the long run then, he's had a ridiculously successful era.

Who are people predicting to dominate the albums chart in 2015 then? The four males (Ed, Sam, George and Olly) should all still sell well into January/February. Unsure how well James Bay is going to be received to tell the truth, though what he's released so far has all been rather pleasant. I'm hopeful that Tom Odell's second album can be promo'd/led with something strong to ensure that sells well, it's seems almost unjust that his former support act (George Ezra) is getting all this success.
I'd take a year hearing the same Xmas songs on the chart over the same Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith & George Ezra tracks every week.

I will agree on Sam Smith. I just don't get it. Ed is over played but at least I didn't mind the songs in the first place (well some)

Biography

The Pogues are an Irish band from London, formed in 1982 and fronted by Shane MacGowan. The band reached international prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. MacGowan left the band in 1991 due to drinking problems but the band continued first with Joe Strummer and then with Spider Stacy on vocals before breaking up in 1996. The band reformed in late 2001, and has been playing regularly ever since, most notably on the US East Coast around St Patrick's Day and across the UK and Ireland every December. The group has yet to record any new music and, according to Spider Stacy on Pogues.com, has no inclination to do so.

Their politically tinged music was informed by MacGowan and Stacy's punk backgrounds, yet used traditional Irish instruments such as the tin whistle, cittern, mandolin and accordion.

The Pogues were founded in Kings Cross, a district of Central London, in 1982 as Pogue Mahone—pogue mahone being the anglicisation of the Irish póg mo thóin, meaning "kiss my arse". - Wikipedia

Even worse then...

Pogues! What a great moment it will be when this finally overtakes My Way's record.

Adele :kink:

Bring it on!! I love Adele  (cue lots of hate)

I'd imagine James Bay's album will sell relatively well, it's very easy listening and he's already had a better kickstart than Tom Odell had with the Long Way Down era. Fingers crossed Tom's second album can do well, I think top 10 would be a success really but #1 is achievable on a good week ~

Fairytale Of New York comfortably higher than Mariah is great to see :D hopefully top 10 is possible for it next year, so unlucky for it to be #11 twice this time!
The Pogues sleighing all.

Pogues diving 6 places while Mariah only slips 2! *.*

Bring it on!! I love Adele  (cue lots of hate)

Emili Sande has a new album out sometime next year too. That should be Number 1, though depends how close she releases to Adele I guess.

The Google Play 99p offer may have pushed 'x' over 200k again, certainly won't have hurt anyway. Just phenomenal.
