Deserves higher but the release was so f***ed up. At least it's got top 40, 33 years after her first and people are still talking about her. Love it so much though

Not great for a Madonna lead single, but again was probably harmed a bit by the release strategy~ much better song than Gimme All Your Luvin

Well this is much better than Gimme All Your Lovin.
Shame it missed out on a top 20 position (might have got that if released sunday), but still a much better peak than Give Me All Your Luvin'. Hoping it can get at least one more week in the top 40. Expecting it to plummet fast but will be happy if it manages to get some stability.

Biography

Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes

Album Discussion Here

The production on this from Diplo is just perfection, deserves a lot higher than #26; fingers crossed it can somehow make another week T40 should streaming pick up a bit.
'Living For Love' ~ such a tune

Shame about radio resistance/ageism as it deserves to be MUCH higher!

You don't really believe that the lack of success is because of ageism on the radio?

Shame it missed out on a top 20 position (might have got that if released sunday), but still a much better peak than Give Me All Your Lovin'. Hoping it can get at least one more week in the top 40. Expecting it to plummet fast but will be happy if it manages to get some stability.

It will no doubt plummet next week, but she has the Jonathan Ross show the week after which should give it some top 100 stability (and also a boost for the second single 'Ghosttown')

'Insipid Tedium Ad infinitum I' ~ coma inducing
This is a pretty good song from ol Mange ~

Oh wow freshness followed by quite the opposite. :( 'Stay With Me' really is one of the worst no.1's of last year.

The lyric "Watch me stumble" is quite amusing, since, well, we did. Fair play to her for carrying on though.
So a non-mover and two fallers out of the three existing Sam top 40 hits - not quite the effect I expected. Of course we still have 'Insipid Tedium Ad Infinitum III' to come and his album will probably be #1 but small victories.

Biography

Following the reception that greeted their underground hit ‘Remedy’, which was released on NewState last summer, Disciples released their ‘Catwalk,’ EP on March 30th as their first release for FFRR.

Reflecting the stylisation of New York’s voguing scene of the late Eighties/early Nineties with a contemporary edge, ‘Catwalk’ encapsulates Disciples’ ability to weld the old with the new, creating a future-retro sound that can snare fans of both eras of music. - Facebook

Discussion Thread Here

#24 is DECENT for Disciples, never expected it to be a huge hit. Truth be told my love for this peaked a few weeks ago but still really liking it and fab to see it in the top 40 at least.
