i'm confused, i thought that in the veto framework that points weren't sposed to double up? so like a top 5 and a top 30 for instance would only get you 12 points for the top 5 because it works up to that?

If someone sent a song into the contest by a previously submitted artist, who placed Top 5 then it would gather 12 points for having placed Top 5 and 3 for artist recycling. If you send a previously submitted artist who were sent twice, but yet one attempt DNQ'ed (or placed somewhere miserably in the final) and the other attempt came Top 5 then it would gather 12 points for placing Top 5 and a further 7 for having been sent twice.

You don't get penalised twice for say an act which has placed #5 in the final along with #10. It would only gather 12 points for having multiple Top 10s. One category is for the position of the artist previously sent and one is for the numerous times the act has participated in BJSC.

Oh do f*** off.

i'm trying to get my head around all of these rules wooooooft

Added in a bit for you so people understand it more! :D

Feel free to ask questions people about anything in the veto framework. Me or any of my co-mods would happily answer anything.

Nicky Romero vs. Volt & State - Warriors 19

- Artist sent in LXX (DNQ), LII (4th) 12 + 7

- Hasn't charted yet, but I'm sure it will.

I very much doubt it will chart, Nicky Romero isn't exactly a chart force. (agree with the veto though)

lmao I knew someone would try Give Me The Knife again because of the whole Raindrops thing

whoever sent Billie should be named and shamed! This is really is becoming the Buzzjack Unknown Song Contest again

This might help.

Under 7 points there are these two items:

- Artist has come top15 previously in BJSC

- The artist has previously been entered two times in the past 30 contests.

So if you enter an artist that was entered twice in the last 3 years, lets say 62 and 70, and on one of those occasions the song came 25th and the other it came 12th. The artist would then pick up 7 points for being a top 15 hit and then 7 points for being used twice in 3 years.

One is to deter successful artists being repeatedly used and the other is to stop artists coming up frequently in a short space of time.

Nicky Romero :o but he seemed like an obvious DNQ what with chart smash ICBTO   and Like Home  along with Toulouse having over 100m views and having his own radio show. Would love to send some of his though :(

Nicky Romero is awful so pretty glad he got vetoed. (Y) I think the song itself is not particularly cheap but any Nicky Romero song is a fairly uninspired choice.

BJSC57 had about this many vetoes as well IIRC (I remember this because I was a temp mod for that contest :magic:)

In other news we are now up to 61 entries assuming all the vetoed nations reconfirm (a few already have, the rest of you have another day to do so, hopefully all will be in before the deadline to avoid any semi-final delays :P), so it'll be 20 qualifiers per semi again. Woot.

Sending the mods a new batch of songs now (with a few of the reconfirmations already in).

When you find out your back-up has just charted #13 in Australia and is currently #1 there on itunes... :drama:

Unless I find something else before tomorrow I shall be sending a quirky soulful track from 2012 I heard this weekend on X Factor NZ, so keeping to the same country.

Okay it looks like we have another SIX vetoes lawl. I did know y'all had been cheap hoes but I didn't think as many as 9 songs would be rejected

Billie - Give Me The Knife

Dawn Richard - Phoenix (feat. Aundrea Fimbres)

Tried it a bit too much, f***ing shameless

I played Billie in PLUG.DJ once, I thought no one knew it besides the PJ.
