The first single of the countdown is out, and thankfully it's the weakest! The song was performed many times before the album dropped and fans were elated at the thought of getting a studio version on the album. Indeed the song did deliver, shooting into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 in the week of release and cementing itself as a fan favourite.. That all seemed to change however when it was announced as a single. Perhaps it should have remained as an album track, because when getting a push as a single it seemed to overshadow the many other highlights on the album that fans wanted released instead. It wasn't huge for her as a single, radios didn't love it and the music video was a mismatch of footage from the abandoned video for TEOG, and a dainty farming/mermaid theme that didn't really gel with the public and most importantly THAT running *.* It did also give us the rise of Jo Calderone so the campaign wasn't ALL wasted.

Aw I have such adoration for 'You and I', the lyrics in particular are really standout and I love the passion she brings to that one. The video is also super cool, I loved the whole Jo Calderone character. Maybe I'm a bit more attached to it as it's the only song I've performed on karaoke to a large audience!

 

Once again, going for 'Scheiße' although it looks like I'm the only one thus far. 'Bloody Mary' on the way out whaaaat, that one is spectacular. Gah.
