Hopefully! I'm enjoying the mini comeback of OA/OS releases. The recent (relative) success of Rita Ora, Calvin Harris and now Selena Gomez demonstrates OA/OS DOES work in the UK. The sooner it's implemented fully, the better.

I wonder if Jess has a slight chance of #1 next week, just like how 'Glitterball' nearly surprised us a few weeks ago. It'll be tough to beat Charlie, but she may have a chance - at least on iTunes.

Hopefully, so she equals Cheryl's very undeserved title for most #1s by a British woman! :D

I'd be more than happy for Jess to go to #1 with what I feel is her best solo single thus far for me

Then maybe getting a sixth in the Autumn by lip-synching badly on the X-Factor?? : O Or marrying someone to get a bit of press coverage!

Come back when Jess Glynne's had over 12 years in pop music and is still getting hits xx

Seriously though, Jess matching the record so soon would be a bit :/ but if any song of hers does it, this should be the one as it's her best yet by a MILE imo. I don't think it will make it though - even if it's #1 on sales and misses out due to streaming.

I can't see 'Don't Be So Hard On Yourself' getting to #1 after never even cracking the top 100 on pre-orders (AFAIA), I'm sure Charlie will still be selling more than well enough in week 2.

I think we actually could be seeing the end of held-back releases (at least on a major scale) for real this time, the fact there have been some SUCCESSFUL OA/OS releases (Calvin and 1D) this time should hopefully stop labels from immediately saying it doesn't work and giving up.

Jess? I doubt it :P Cheryl on the otherhand.....

I think Jess may just get to #1. It's #2 in airplay and I think it'll do better than its pre-orders may indicate. Would be great to see Jess get her 5th #1 in less than 2 years.

I looked in the pre-order peaks thread and here are the peaks for Jess Glynne:

#07 Rather Be

#30 My Love

#55 Right Here

#47 Real Love

#40 Hold My Hand

~#27 Not Letting Go

I don't mean to be negative, and I know pre-orders are underperforming as of late, but this doesn't bode very well for Don't Be So Hard On Yourself. Which is a shame, because I personally would have liked to see it it number one.

I've just properly listened to Marvin Gaye and wow, such a sweet song!

Yeah the lyrics are like wtf but their vocals are pretty good.

Poor Only The Young. Well, maybe their signing tour this week could help 'I Do'.

Does anyone know if they have any TV promo this week? :drama:

They did their promo last week and the week before as that was the original release date unfortunately. They had to push it back last minute as their CD singles hadn't arrived into the UK but of course they couldn't push back their promotional appearances at such short notice.
Jess Glynne wont be going to #1 next week, it will just be that boring song that doesn't make much sense that will stay there instead.

At the end of the day, it's not surprising to see a Pop song at #1 on the Pop chart

I'd rather Jess Glynne got there too, but she really needs to put something different out if she wants a long career. This song is a sign her 'sound' has crossed over, but fans are going to want more of the same from a second album. If that's releases in two years time, then the trends in Pop would have moved on.

I would like to see Jess get another number 1, simply to take the record from Cheryl.

 7. Rita Ora ft. Chris Brown - Body On Me <_<

 14. Lana Del Rey - High By The Beach :yahoo:

 17. Selena Gomez - Good For You :yahoo:

 37. Foxes - Body Talk

 41. Pia Mia - Do It Again

 47. Meek Mill ft. Nicki Minaj - All Eyes On You

 93. Charles Hamilton ft. Rita Ora - New York Raining

In all seriousness, Pia Mia has just shot up out of nowhere, and I'm not quite sure why. Was it released last night for some reason?
