9. The Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme

Highest Rating: 11 (gavindeejay & gooddelta)

Lowest Rating: 0 (Fgiboy2511)

10. Rachel Stevens - Some Girls

Average Score: 7.60

Total Votes: 25

Highest Rating: 11 (Aled. & UltraChristmas)

Lowest Rating: -1 (HonkyBonkXMAS)

Kicking off the top 10 it's the first two songs on the edition. Some Girls was Stevens' second big solo hit following Sweet Dreams My LA Ex and was a #2 hit in Summer of '04. Lola's Theme was a massive dance hit by Shapeshifters, who would release further top 20 hits but none to this scale. The first Top 40 on Radio 1 I distinctly remember listening to was the week this shot to #1

8. Outkast - Hey Ya!

Average Score: 7.70

Total Votes: 25

Highest Rating: 11 (darkstar79)

Lowest Rating: -1 (bluesunstorm, Fgiboy2511 & Liam)

Hey Ya! proved to be one of the most divisive tracks on the edition with three -1's but also a massive ten 10's, only one other track received more. It's undoubtedly Outkast's most recognised hit and is still very much popular to this day. Finishing just ahead will a relatively less memorable song is Christina Milian. She would go on to have a further 2 top ten hits but hasn't been seen in the Charts since 2006.

6. Scissor Sisters - Laura

Average Score: 8.06

Highest Rating: 11 (dandy*)

Lowest Rating: 5 (AaronTM & Ezra's Whore)

At #6 and the highest ranking male track is Scissor Sisters' Laura. Taken from their hugely successful self-titled debut album which yielded an impressive five top 20 hits in total. Into the top 5 and it's Sugababes with In The Middle, this was their 3rd top 10 hit in a run of 7 consecutive. Both of these tracks did not receive a score lower than 5, proving to be two of the most unhated tracks, if not the absolute most loved.

Average Score: 8.58

Total Votes: 25

Highest Rating: 11 (bluesunstorm)

Lowest Rating: 4 (darkstar79)

At fourth it's perennial Now top 10ers Girls Aloud with The Show. This by contrast was their fifth in a run of eight straight top 5 hits and received no scores lower than 4. Claiming bronze in this rate it's Anastacia with the amazing Left Outside Alone. No track received more 11's than this but it was also the highest ranked song to receive a -1 too. Speaking of which she has a Greatest Hits album out atm, get on the hype!

Which means we are left with: Everytime Vs. Trick Me. Any bets?

She's done it yet again! It's the fourth Now Rate victory for Britney Spears putting her now in the outright lead in the all-time winner's list. Everytime also takes the third highest winning score in any Rate (where she also ranks in second with Baby One More Time). And it's clear to see why, not a single score below a 7 remarkably as well as five 11's to boot, it's a huge winning margin. Consolations to Kelis with Trick Me, which received 10's from over half the participants but couldn't find that elusive 11 score. A brilliant top 2 needless to say but Britney reigns supreme once more!

Thanks to the 24 other participants in this rate, look out for the next one coming imminently - we're going old school again!

I didn't know enough songs to vote, but surely Move Ya Body missing the top 20 is a huge surprise!? :o I would've thought it was well liked on Buzzjack.

I like how the top three songs are all matching their official chart peaks.

Anastacia robbed. She wipes the floor with everything else tbh.

'Everytime' is a wonderful winner, such a heartbreaking beauty. Only surpassed by 'Toxic' in her discography!

I actually love all of that top 5! I always thought 'In The Middle' was quite underrated/forgotten in terms of their singles so it's great to see it do so well here.

A pleasing finish for 'Dip It Low' as well! Probably my favourite song to come on at a party.

WHAT at 'Now We Are Free' doing so poorly?! :(

Anastacia robbed. She wipes the floor with everything else tbh.

No. Left Outside Alone has to be her most overrated track ever, considering her discography includes gems such as Paid My Dues or One Day In Your Life both immensely superior hits.
