February 16, 20196 yr Not entirely 'unexpected' as I knew it was happening but I went to see Jungle tonight and they had Georgia (of 'Started Out' fame) as support. She had loads of really good tracks actually, and finished off with Started Out which sounded great and got quite a few people going!
February 20, 20196 yr not technically a BJSC entry heard but the ITV drama advert that was just on has the piece of music that 'the nature of dying' sampled!! (On the Nature of Daylight - Max Richter)

April 18, 20196 yr apparently my BJSC entry 'AYA' by Recycle Culture samples an old Scottish folk song and I didn't know until my work colleague played it for me and told me it was his mum's funeral song no wonder it didn't win xxxxx

July 19, 20195 yr This isn't about an actual BJSC entry, but it's close enough to be worth mentioning. I've been teaching English to foreign students at a summer school for the past few weeks and, as part of the programme, students have to do a project on a subject set by the teacher. This week I chose Music as the subject for my class. One of the groups decided to analyse the lyrics of a song and they chose If I Killed Someone For You by former Suedeonian representative Alec Benjamin. They seemed rather surprised that I had heard of him and could discuss I Built A Friend with them :D
July 19, 20195 yr Ah that delicious moment when teens get surprised some older folk know of pop culture :heehee:
