Britney got played on Capital :cheer: I hope they get behind it

They played it on kmfm too. I can't remember the last Britney song they played on there (well except maybe BOMT!).

Disappointed it's slowing down already though. She needs to release the music video ASAP and do a few interviews.

Its worth noting that even Drake's gone from 0.32 to 0.42, DLMD have also increased from 0.73 to 0.78 themeselves, so from their point of view the 59p effect has been negated somewhat so far.

Drake - One dance up 10% already since being reduced in price

his label did the same with the album price on itunes in the US when he was losing to RHCP the other week and it worked too, at his label they know what they're doing

lol, all of the banners at the top of the iTunes homepage are for Katy Perry's song. Someone's desperate for an iTunes #1 eh? :heehee:
It's an iTunes/Apple Music exclusive which explains the banners :heehee: wouldn't have so many otherwise I expect.

Calum now #1 when combined :) marginally but #1 anyway

Calum 1.0066

Jonas Blue 1.0000

Katy 0.9849

first red update for britney

Edited by Bjork

it's an apple music exclusive, at least for now

Apple Music has made a big play for exclusives as a way to attract more people to join its $9.99/month streaming service. Apple Music has even paid for major music videos in exchange for exclusive release windows. Earlier today, Katy Perry released a surprise single for her fans called ‘Rise’ exclusively available on Apple’s content platforms.

Thought must be a busy week 8 pages day 1

In 2 minds want drake break record but Katy or Britney to get number 1 for freshness

How is it foul play? Was it foul play for Jonas Blue, Chainsmokers & Calum Scott's tracks to all be reduced to 59p recently as well then?

It just seems like such a coincidence if not. iTunes often promote songs that are struggling to rise up the charts (especially recently) but I can't remember a time when a song already at #1 has been reduced, ever. Some have got there after being made 59p. To do so for a song that has been there for 14 weeks is ludicrous and I would think Apple have more sense than to do that unless they're given good reason to. Sure, by all means reduce its price when it's dropped out of the top 40, but not now!

How is a song that only spent a few weeks at number 1 on paid for sales, breaking a record set by a song with 100% paid for sales a good thing?

I don't think it's Apple that are deciding to temporarily reduce the price of songs like Perfect Strangers/Dancing on My Own/One Dance, it's the record companies. Apple would still get the same amount of $$ per purchase if the record company reduces the price so they wouldn't say no to a price reduction request.

Fair enough, I'm not denying that. I just see reducing the price after 14 weeks at #1 as a blatant attempt by the record company to manipulate the chart and get more weeks. On the other hand, it was clearly an effort to do the same thing when Wet Wet Wet deleted their single, but they didn't get any more weeks from it anyway as the competition proved too strong when Whigfield released. I'm probably just biased when it's been 11 weeks since the song was even #1 on sales, it really shouldn't still be there at this point and anything that gives it a boost is a terrible thing in my view

That Jonas Blue song at number 1 :( Tropical house needs to die away soon. The lyrics are soppy too :(
What exactly is a GBX and Sparkos and how are they so high?

Its a remix of a 90's old skool track by Artemesia

Calvin Harris closed his set with the original at last weekend's T In The Park (which did show up in the top 200 on itunes and is still in the top 250)

I wonder when Drake is planning on dropping the video? next week would be good.
