ouch Katy Perry down to #67 Britney down to #80
:heehee:

I did check first, but it was still showing last weeks. :kink:

7 Bob Marley & The Wailers - Legend

I assume this is subsequent to the growing success of the LVNDSCAPE remix of Is This Love?. Good to see it climb again.

Edited by mdh

isn't it also on sale?

...and that's probably influenced by the LVNDSCAPE remix's success.

50 The Stone Roses - Beautiful Thing

I'm guessing this has been released on vinyl or something then

66 TIEKS - Sunshine

Wonder how much of this is down to its play in the Summer Mix when everyone had turned the radio on to listen to the chart

Now 94 selling well but didn't Now 93 sell lots, like 250K on 1st week??
Now 94 is a massive impulse buyer. Shoppers will see it & just buy it on a whim for the most part I reckon!
Jonas Blue becoming 2016's version of Sash with all his singles stalling at #2!
ELO taking advantage of an even more dead than usual week to grab a likely #1 album then, although that said that must be a sales increase for them this week? Is it just extra advertisement or is there some other reason they're increasing again? Not really familiar with their music (other than of course the classic 'Mr. Blue Sky') but I suppose that's cool for them to finally hit #1, second big selling greatest hits to get a belated #1 peak in 2016 following 'Best Of Bowie' if it does hold on. Hoping Christine And The Queens might nab it next week though!

247k is what NOW 93 sold in its first week. Hope NOW 94 can beat that

I'm really chuffed for Jeff Lynne if ELO hold on to No.1. It recently peaked at No.3 after Glastonbury. Hard to believe it was released in 2005 and hit 1 million sales just a few weeks ago. It looks like it IS the extra advertisement that's made the difference this week. :)

I found this thread I started back in 2014, asking if we'll ever have a long-running #1 single again - this was a few months before 'Uptown Funk' arrived, and obvs well before the Drake Ages. It's fascinating and often amusing reading now!

Will we ever have a long-running #1 single again?

Nobody wants songs being number 1 for 15 weeks though

I bet my life we'll never get a song lasting 8 weeks or more, unless there is some sort of 'chart hack' manipulating the sales :D :w00t:

And so on...

Regarding the Now albums, Now 70 sold 383k in its opening week in 2008 which I think is the record. Not sure why that album out of all of them, but Now 69 did almost as well so sales of Nows were pretty high that year all round.

So hard to believe this was less than two years ago!

This might be an unpopular opinion but I'd like to see a ten-week number one, as it hasn't happened in the time I've been following the charts.

I'm sure it will happen sooner or later, but with emphasis on 'later' for now.

I'm glad this has happened now, although I probably would've enjoyed it more if it was an actual sales #1 for 10 weeks. It was a default #1 for much of the time, but I do love 'One Dance' and beggars can't be choosers :P

Olly Murs thought not putting song on youtube will repeat Drakes career.

And I am very glad he has been severely punished as his song is likeable and potential top 3 song but is deep in the basement.Hopefully every artist which wants us to pay to listen to his songs will be heavily punished like Olly from now on as he will surely lose a lot of revenue thnks to this

Really hope ELO hold on to the number one in the album chart!
