he's #2 in today's mids so you could possibly be right! (but #4 seems more likely as Let Me Love You and Cold Water both sold more than it in the last 24 hours, and they can easily catch up with added streams)

I think the point is the fact James Arthur came out of absolutely nowhere. He could be born in America for all it matters but we'd still be surprised he's at #1 after nearly 3 years away from music.

I think it'd be less of a shock for a good song, whoever it's by, to be #1 on iTunes a couple years ago compared to now though

They have a big 90s fanbase though so while it was surprising, I don't think it was quite as much of a shock as James Arthur

Amazing, biggest shock hit since Dancing On My Own went crazy (and still doing incredibly) - obviously very different chart runs as James seems to have done it so quickly! Unbelievable. Good on him.

Well he has to close a 10k gap that the Chainsmokers had - and they're still a fair way in front on Streaming.

 

I think they're too far in front this week - although his streaming had increased significantly I don't think it will be enough (for this week)
