It's a shame really. Tbh urban females very rarely break through in the UK! Just look at the likes of Ashanti, Aaliyah etc.. they've had a handful of hits and huge critical acclaim but nothing massive.

It's a shame really. Tbh urban females very rarely break through in the UK! Just look at the likes of Ashanti, Aaliyah etc.. they've had a handful of hits and huge critical acclaim but nothing massive.

 

Tinashe's barley had even that really... you are right though it only seems to be the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna who have long term consistency.

I can see that Train song becoming a big hit if it gets more radio play etc

Aaliyah and Ashanti had tons of US success though. Tinashe doesn't even have that. She had a moderate hit with 2 On, but that was really it (All My Friends did nothing there).

Play That Song is a pile of absolute shite, no idea why it's looking like becoming a hit. Although I hope it smashes for the sake of having something not-generic and not-trendhopping in the charts.

Tinashe is cool snd has pptential but come on

Shes had 1 minor US hit and 2 flop albums

Cannot vompare her to Adhanti

Whos had 2 Us @1 albums and 5 top 10 US albums overall

Tinashe is something really special, from someone who isn't ordinarily big on that type of urban female (at least was for the first album).

Great to see Play That Song doing well! Such a great tune!
