sorry guys - tbh I should probably let you know this'll be my last contest for a while, my heart hasn't been in it for a fair few months and I've lost touch with the mood of the contest. might return later this year and I'm in Masquerade atm but yeah I'll be off 'til autumn at least I reckon. good luck to y'all!

A massive shame to hear this :( 'In The Flames' is one of the entries from last year that I go back to the most  fair enough though, as long as you don't leave us forever!

Sad to hear you'll be leaving for a while Randy, we can't keep losing all these great countries :(

gonna use this time to squeeze in a Syndare discovery that keeps sounding glorious each time I revisit <3

Sad to hear that David :( You're always welcome whenever you've a song to send or a spin off theme takes your fancy.

Just no leave it as long as the other David to come back eh!

YES this is my favorite of theirs too!

^ an underrated Syndare classique  (my fave of theirs would be Belanger but that's too obvious, I think 'Now You See Me' would rank as my 2nd fave)

Syndare :( :(

Oh yes I'm quite satisfied being the record holder for longest break between contests!

Looking forward to the results later on - hopefully there'll be a few surprises thrown in there too!

Kylienips will miss Syndare we gave points quite a bit in the past with some great discoveries, I shall miss your entries.

I won't be attending the final unfortunately due to laptop issues, it's so hard to navigate a forum on a mobile. All the best everyone. South Danlandia ftw :cheer: Ashton's entry is pretty good as well, it's a grower. Looks like Ali could end up in the bottom five, well at least I made it into the final, which really took me by surprise.

Pinnacle grabbed me instantly. I never really associated it with 'grower' status.

Then again, I do loon for Tone Damli so I was gonna be stanning the f*** out of it regardless.

I will unfortunately miss the results. Good luck everyone & thanks in advance to those who have supported Ashton & Tone!! #MakeAshtonWinAgain - There's records at stake here peoples if she wins! Longest gap between wins and Tone finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd all for Ashton which from my quick glance would make it a first.

Who's "South Danlandia" :P

I still think Ashton has this but if any outside contender were to surprise tonight it'll be Pupok.

I agree about Pinnacle not really being a grower. :kink:

Sad to see Syndare leaving the contest for a while but it is understandable... when your taste is at odds with the current genres that are being sent it can become quite the chore to listen to so many tracks that you don't really enjoy that much. Better to just enter when you feel in the right place to do so.

Particularly disappointing for me though as Syndare were one of the countries that sent something a bit different, or possibly just more likely to send something suited to my tastes.

Indeed!

I would be more than okay with an Ashton win though - the more varied the winning countries the better so I am kind of hoping you manage it. ^_^

I agree. Nice to see new blood in the winners circle all of whom won by at least a point. And then Ashton can go 50 contests more until the next time Tone is eligible to bring the third win.

An outright win would be nice as fun as it was to be the first tied winner.

I'll probably no win again until like contest 170  I didn't expect Tone to keep up her top 5 streak for me. It's a very different track from her and the contest make up has changed so I honestly didn't expect it to do anything. I just entered it because I preach so much about going with the song you love most, not one that you think will do well, that I had to enter the track I'm pure obsessed with.

Results coming tonight or tomorrow Sam? I'm guessing the latter because battle of the duos but just checking!

In the assumption Ashton may reign victorious this evening and host the next contest as winners, I just thought I'd take a moment to remind us all of the following:

Hosting:

The Basics

The moderators will typically invite the winner of the contest to host the next contest. However, this right is not automatic. At their discretion, the moderators may ask another nation to host - this nation will be chosen using the method of selecting a host where the winner is unable or unwilling to host and is detailed below. This discretion will typically be exercised where a nation has won multiple contests in succession. The host is expected to take care of voting and results threads, as well as the collection of entries, through a google form provided by the moderators, and votes. They must also inform participants if their entries have been vetoed. Screenshots of full scoreboards are also encouraged to be posted once the final results have been announced.

The Details

All deadlines must be 23:59 GMT/BST (which ever applies in the UK at the time of the contest).

Results must follow within 20 hours of the original deadline. The BJSC moderators will waive this at their discretion for extenuating circumstances.

Please Note

In the event of the winner of the contest being unable, unwilling, or uninvited to host the following will apply:

The right to host will pass to the highest finishing nation that has yet to host an edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest.

If they decline to host the rights will pass to the second highest finishing nation that has yet to host, and so on.

If there are no eligible, or willing nations, in the final then the rights will follow the previous path of second place, third place etc.

To have the right to host the next contest, you must have progressed to the final of the current edition.

If there are no willing nations in the final then a moderator will host the contest.
