April 24, 20179 yr Would love it if Steps could somehow overcome the odds and "do a Scooter" and get a surprise number 1 album! Unfortunately it looks unlikely, but those sales are outstanding for them! :o I knew top 2 was on lock, but I thought the number they've got now would be about the total for the full week! :o
April 24, 20179 yr Where do you think Shawn, Gaga, Paramore, Lana and Steps (SOTD) will be about at the end of the week?! Shawn will be low top 10, Gaga low top 20, Paramore ~#30, Lana mid 30s I'd say. Steps are harder to predict, if everything sold the same for the rest of the week they'd end up at #39 but that won't be the case, can see them just missing the top 40.

Yasss for Shawn/Gaga in particular and also glad Lana is finally gonna score another top 40 hit *.* <3 Hopefully Steps will make it!
April 24, 20179 yr Another Saturday misjudgement from Minty then. Ed will get comfortable number 1 in the Albums, I wouldn't count him out in Singles just yet.
April 24, 20179 yr I wouldn't count him out in Singles just yet. I would, Clean Bandit still outsold him by ~1k yesterday, he's gonna have to make up that gap and pull ahead significantly if he wants to overtake Symphony, which is unlikely.
April 24, 20179 yr Would love to see Gaga chart higher with 'The Cure' than 'Perfect Delusion'. That's not what it's called though. Swalla top 10 and Symphony #1 *.* It seems unlikely but I still have a nagging feeling Ed will overtake, will actually cry if that happens 😫 Gaga slaying too, hope it can rise into the top 10 in the next few weeks!
April 24, 20179 yr Surely Lady Gaga will go top 10 in a week or two if it keeps rising on streaming, increased airplay and if it stays 59p?
April 24, 20179 yr Think the gap between CB and Ed tomorrow will be a better guide to No1. I still think they overestimate Thursday's streaming I am also big reggae/reggaeton fan so would love to see Despacito crack T40 Edited April 24, 20179 yr by Glenn 69
April 24, 20179 yr Full update up :D Cheat Codes are #41! The Bowie EP at #40 (from Record Store Day) will 100% drop out so hopefully No Promises can be top 40 on Friday :D I think iSpy and maybe Cold will be ahead of No Promises on Friday. Really surprised iSpy is not yet top 40 at this point. :o
April 24, 20179 yr Shame Steps' chance of keeping the #1 album are slim, but that's an amazing result for them and top 2 looks guaranteed. Elated that 'Symphony' will finally get #1!
April 24, 20179 yr The album chart should have a few obscure albums in there due to Record Store Day last Saturday. I think the David Bowie album is one of them. In case anyone cares, these are the album chart entries I've identified that are RSD releases/re-releases (although of course some of them were already available in other formats) 10 David Bowie - Cracked Actor (Live in Los Angeles '74) 26 David Bowie - Bowpromo 1 35 The Cure - Greatest Hits 39 Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Hammersmith Odeon London '75 44 Sex Pistols - God Save Sex Pistols 46 Madonna - Dance Mix 47 Vangelis - Blade Runner 50 The Cure - Acoustic Hits 52 Ocean Colour Scene - Moseley Shoals Live 55 Pink Floyd - London 1966-67 57 The View - Hats Off To The Buskers 60 Slaves - Take Control 63 The Who - Quadrophenia 67 Elton John - 17-11-70 69 Cabbage - Young Dumb And Full Of 70 The Cribs - Men's Needs Women's Needs Whatever 71 Blossoms, Joe Duddell, The No. 6 Ensemble - Unplugged At Festival No. 6 72 Elastica - Elastica 83 The Doors - Live At The Matrix '67 91 Neil Young - Decade 94 Dee-Lite - Groove Is In The Heart There's also an RSD format of the Maximo Park album but as it's a substantial new release this week I didn't include it in the list.
April 24, 20179 yr Author 94 Dee-Lite - Groove Is In The Heart Got beaten by Steve Miller Band 'Abracadabra', that was the week when they change the compiler, if I remember rightly.
April 24, 20179 yr It was The Joker - Abracadabra did actually peak at 2. When the chart was originally announced both songs had the same figure, so Number One was awarded to Steve Miller Band on a technicality, amid much controversy. By the way, I looked on Discogs and according to the timings on the disc label, the RSD single has a total playing time of 20 minutes and one second. Presumably that's why it's listed on the albums rather than the singles chart. EDIT: except the limit is 25 minutes now. Edited April 24, 20179 yr by The Hit Parade
April 24, 20179 yr Who knows, Steps may do a Stormzy and really push for that #1 album. Watching them perform as we speak! Very random Monday night promo, on All Round to Mrs Browns. They have a chance and clearly are putting in the work.

April 24, 20179 yr Pretty incredible when you consider their last studio album 'Light Up The World' has sold a total of 18,000 since its Q4 2012 release. In fairness though that was their attempt at a Christmas Album that was generally considered as ill-judged.
