On repeat right now, weird af but already one of her best! *.* It reminds me slightly of 'Bad Liar', that can only be a good thing <3

It's not growing, but it's not getting any worse for me.

Beyond the initial hype, I'm struggling to see it holding up too great chart wise. Maybe about 12 weeks top 40 (which would be poor by Taylor's standards in todays chart climate) but we'll see. It's obvz gonna do big things for the first 3 or 4 weeks or so.

Yeah I think this'll be the kind of song that CANNONS down the chart once it hits ACR.

The reaction is very mixed. Hopefully the next single can convince people to buy the album.

I much preferred Blank Space to SIO, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I much prefer 'Blank Space' to 'Shake It Off', 'I Knew You Were Trouble' to 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' and 'You Belong With Me' to 'Love Story'. I forget what the first two singles from the other eras were but she is usually queen of the second single. This is the first Taylor lead I've loved so I'd be impressed if she could top it for me!
I preferred Blank Space to SIO but tbh 3 minute of Taylor bupring to the theme song of The Big Bang Theory would be better than SIO

I seem to prefer the second singles in the even number eras (YBWM/IKYWT) so hopefully that's a sign for this era! I would be shock if the next song isn't an irresistible pop song like Blank Space or something that's not too risky!

I'm so excited for the video for this though, I really think it's going to be incredible!

WANEGBT, Shake It Off and LWYMMD all fit the bill of headline-grabbing, quite polarising and slightly novelty first single which storms Taylor onto the scene. Her second singles definitely seem to be the big pop moments that get everyone on side!

Don't fix what ain't broke!

I'm really disappointed with this... it's so forgettable :( I was hoping for something more like "Wildest Dreams", that's the perfect bridge between her older music and her poppy post-2012 music

This has already sold +100k in America supposedly!! :o Bye Despacito *.*

Will those sales count for this week's upcoming chart or the one after? I'm so confused, I haven't followed the charts since before the release date changed to Friday!

I've gone from enjoying the Peaches similarities to really disliking this. The lyrics and narrative just aren't as smart as she thinks they are, and she comes across like the victim again. It's banal and I think it's going to backfire after the hype. The video needs to be incredible.

The chorus is such a choice and just doesn't work in the same way something like The Louvre does.

The pre-chorus and middle 8 are my favourite parts, I get why people don't like the chorus but it gives that song the full vibe I think Taylor was going for, it really wouldn't work without it imo

I feel like she could have made such a statement with this which just makes it all the more disappointing.

She's been silent for a year, post election/Kanye/controversies etc, and this is what she comes back with?

No honey.

It doesn't work with it though.

Everything leading up to the chorus is wonderful...and then IT kicks in...and just WHAT AN ABSOLUTE MONSTROSITY.

It really is 'Me Too' and that's one of the worst things I've ever heard

I do see what people mean about the lyrics on subsequent listens, it's basically like her acknowledging that she has a lot of power in the celebrity circuit and she'll tear down anyone who dares to upset her and destroy their reputation (which is the main thing I don't like about her really).

I still like this song though!

No matter who it is about, she seems easily riled and it's not a good look overall.

She comes across very unlikable with these constant diss tracks. Get over it and stop trying to go for this 'i'm hard done by by the world, but i'm still a bad bitch so don't mess with me' persona constantly. That bad attitude also ends up effecting her artistic integrity (I sound like Natalia Kills rn, but still) as it makes her sound like a bitchy schoolgirl with nothing else to say apart from airing all her drama and dirty laundry in public constantly.

👏🏻

Me Too is a bop tbh. It's better.

This has been torn down by a lot of top critics including Guardian, Pitchfork and Vulture.
