18th Part Of Me = 10 Votes

Welcome to Round 8 of Least Fave Katy Perry single, and the latest casualty is 'Part Of Me' which not only means that we lose the first of her many chart toppers, but also we finally lose one of the 'Teenage Dream' era singles, considering that there's 8 of them, and it took 8 rounds to finally lose one, it's pretty good going and there's still 7 left in the running and I think that they'll be safe for the time being (maybe). Released in February 2012 and was released as the lead single from the re-release edition of her 2nd album 'Teenage Dream', re-titled 'The Complete Confection', which also made this the 7th overall single taken from it. Considering the album and previous singles were already massively successful, there wasn't any need for a re-release, but thankfully this worked well and truly in her favour, as 'POM' became a massive success by topping the charts in both the UK and USA becoming her 3rd and 7th #1 respectively, as well as topping the charts in 4 other counties, and added a lot more sales to the album which shot back into the top 10 in several countries. The song itself was speculated to be about her divorce from Russell Brand, but Katy herself has denied this as it was written in 2010 and was a leftover demo from the 'Teenage Dream' recordings. The song itself is decent enough, if not rather predictable, but I do like the thundering drums layered underneath the chorus which really drives the message of independence of the song to full force and okay this may not be one of her best songs, but it's still pretty good.

As for the other results 'Birthday' wasn't far behind with 8 votes, a huge jump from the 2 it had in the previous round. 'IWEMA' picks up 6 votes. 'SS' again garners 3 votes & 'IKAG' yet again gains 2 votes. Then finally both 'Roar' & 'CTTR' both gains a vote each for the first time in this competition.

Right then guys I've decided to shake things up a bit for this round as there's gonna be another double elimination, same rules apply just vote for 2 of your least fave singles from the 17 remaining songs by the next round which will be on Friday September 1st.
