It's just FUN, like when the public got behind Let's Get Ready To Rhumble (though I'm not suggesting this will hit #1 as that did) - Chris & Kem aren't trying to be genuine artists like Megan McKenna and that's fine, I've been listening to it today because I think it's a funny track and I know the context behind it as a viewer of Love Island and that's the same for anyone who's buying or streaming it. You can have your fun back when the barrel of laughs that is Sam Smith returns to #1 tomorrow night.

Be interesting to see Chris and Kem's Spotify position tomorrow and if they crack the top 50. 131 after a few hours of available streams is fairly good. I wouldn't rule out top 40 officially come friday

My comment was in reference to the comment that said "reality tv stars invading the charts every other week" or whatever. It was less about the song/artist and more in reference to reality stars trying to make it as popstars etc.. :lol:

 

You see, this isn't even the good sort of novelty to me (and believe me, I can get on board with trashy, novelty fun! :kink:) so I think I'm just bitter that I don't understand what makes it so funny or good or anything and it's infuriating that there are so many talented people out there trying to get a hit and yet this rubbish can get to #1 in just a matter of hours! (albeit not officially but still :lol:)

 

I know it's not the be all and end all and I apologise if I'm taking it too seriously, but I just love my music too much and as I said, it's not like I'm against novelty songs ;D I just don't fully understand the appeal of this and it bugs me :lol:

 

Oh and Sam isn't who I'm concerned about tbh. I just want Camila to get there. :kink:

will Beyonce be credited on Mi Gente from now on? I never really understood the remix criteria in the UK tbh. Like Bieber is credited for Despacito, but not Britney for S&M.

The criteria is basically whatever the OCC feel like doing, there isn't a whole lot of consistency to it. Felix Jaehn was credited as a remixer on 'Cheerleader' for example but Seeb weren't credited for 'I Took A Pill In Ibiza'.

 

It seems more likely than not that Beyoncé won't be added to the 'Mi Gente' credits, I think.

Beyoncé's version isn't the main single mix, so I think it's fair that she remains uncredited.
