October 28, 20177 yr Is there a slight delay so they can edit it on the fly and put in interesting judge reactions?
October 28, 20177 yr Bit pathetic that Leon and Sam managed to get through and Spencer didn't, but I guess the teenage girls won't have known who they'd rather sleep with. :drama: Grace was miles ahead of everybody else tonight, loved the song! Hoping Rai-Elle can get better though, because I didn't love that mash-up. Lloyd and Alisah really do need to just piss off to the West End though.
October 28, 20177 yr X Factor could easily cash in on the West End and do a montage of like Alexandra, Joe, Diana and Lucie and their west end success
October 28, 20177 yr Yup - that's a good idea. They should do that! Lloyd and Alisah have great voices, let's face it ... for theatre.
October 28, 20177 yr Alisah doesn't.. she has no passion and although her voice is powerful, there's no soul or emotion at all. She just belts coz she can. Lloyd I completely understand the theatre "criticisms" for though (can they be called that? Theatrical singers are outstanding! Haha)
October 28, 20177 yr God I really hate the new format, they’ve ruined it. The elimination used to be the best part, now it’s just like... ok. No drama or tension whatsoever. And what are they gonna do when it’s down to like 6 contestants in week 5, do 3 a night? That’ll be a short show. And the sing-off tomorrow? That’s like a special prize you’d win in Tipping Point, not The X Factor... why the hell would we care if they go to see P!nk? Lol. Rai-Elle disappointed me tbh, I really liked her before but she just doesn’t translate well to the live shows. They could’ve done more with the mash-up, it was like 2 seconds of the Lauryn Hill songs and the rest Meghan Trainor. Alisah won the night for me tbh, she is incredible. The only thing I like is that they do more obscure songs now... I never thought I’d hear This Is My Now or a Tori Kelly or Lauryn Hill song on The X Factor
October 29, 20177 yr Author They'll probably do two songs each at an earlier stage maybe? Alisah doesn't.. she has no passion and although her voice is powerful, there's no soul or emotion at all. She just belts coz she can. Lloyd I completely understand the theatre "criticisms" for though (can they be called that? Theatrical singers are outstanding! Haha) Totally agree, all she has is her power. She can't emote or tell a story so I wouldn't call her theatrical or west end, because she'd be useless at that
October 29, 20177 yr So we pretty much know already that Grace is going to win the X Factor then. It's a case of who will finish in 2nd place behind her at the final.
October 29, 20177 yr Tbh, from hype etc... I wouldn't be surprised if Grace and Cutkelvins were the top 2. I'd also throw Lloyd in there too, depending on how quick the GBP will get bored of Grace (which I can def see happening)
October 29, 20177 yr So people actually enjoy this Grace character? She has been hyped up as this great songwriter but I find most of them quite forgettable and can’t tell what she’s actually saying half of the time. For me the most overrated one this year in an attempt to be cool. She was OK last night but nah. Format is great though. The new set makes it feel much fresher and it’s nice to cut down all the crap and fill it with stuff actually happening.
October 29, 20177 yr Not sure about the new format, there was absolutely no tension for the elimination. It just kind of happened and that was that.
October 29, 20177 yr Interesting point! When The X Factor USA revealed the full vote rankings on screen each week, the top 2 (Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar) was pretty much the same top 2 all the way through so it didn't affect anything there. I imagine it probably won't have much of an effect here either but will be interesting to monitor. yeah, I remember in 2012 James Arthur was bottom 2 one week after being top 3 every other week because everyone expected him to be up there regardless
October 29, 20177 yr Not sure about the new format, there was absolutely no tension for the elimination. It just kind of happened and that was that. Agreed with this. Dermot didn't even seem bothered. I mean, he probably isn't, but you gotta put the face on. Getting rid of the top2 sing off and keeping the bottom 2 one would work much better. From laat neet: 1. Grace 8/10 2. Leon 7/10 3. Holly 710 - reminded me of an Alexandra Burke style perf? 4. Alisha 7/10 5. Lloyd 6/10 6. Spencer 5/10 7. Sam Black 2/10 8. Rae Elle 2/10
October 29, 20177 yr I like the format changes (massive lol at the studio being exactly the same as 'Sounds Like Friday Night') but I really didn't like any of the performances apart from Alisah's (and Holly's at a push). Rae-Elle really disappointed me, there was too much going on and the cut and paste between the two songs felt very jarring. I was hoping that Grace wouldn't win the public vote, her songs are so forgettable and as I've already voiced, I don't like that she can sail through on her original songs week-in, week-out. What happened the getting rid of the themes this year?!
October 29, 20177 yr Author The eliminations are my problem with the format too, with the sing-off it felt more of an event but I agree it just kind of whizzed by and was gone in a flash, thy could at least have say an encore performance of their fave of the series. Other than that I did really like the format, the 8 a night feels better as sometimes 16 can be overwhelming, you get a bit bored and think god when's this over, but I think with just the 8 everyone got a chance to shine (nor not in Sam and Spencer's case) and settle with you before the next one came on without it feeling too much. I just wish there still was a sing-off, just extend the show by 15 minutes or cut some of the shite waffle
October 29, 20177 yr Agreed - as stageddramatastic as the sing offs were, they were a better way of ending the show than a quick announcement and someone getting to go and see Pink! I did however really like that you got to hear much more from the contestants than in previous series where you'd get a very quick performance in the early shows to squeeze everyone in. And 8 contestants only meant I didn't get bored like I normally do by the end.
October 29, 20177 yr Author Exactly that was the whole fun of the sing-offs, and a lot of the talkng points the next day would be "what the f*** how did x make it through she was flat at 18 different points of the song", and the outrage of say Lucie vs Jedward, Rylan vs Carolynne... When they're both the best acts and they're singing to meet Pink I don't see how people are meant to care anywhere near as much as when they're singing to stay in the competition! I suppose it's nice to hear the best ones sing again rather than shit boyband and twinky teen boy but you can't always trust the public to choose the actual best
October 29, 20177 yr Author 5.22 million viewers last night btw, horrendous  To put that in perspective, Pointless celebrities got 5.33m earlier on :') It's up against Blue Planet and Strictly results tonight as well.
