it also coincides wih a drop in quality, especially in the case of Madonna, and I'm a big fan, that Gimme all your love with Niki Minaj was a career killer

I think that time came in 2008 with the dreadful Hard Candy era.

Is this the new Hozier? His name is similar! :o

Haha what the?! That's the Voice Australia 2017 runner up's runner up single, what's it doing here

Drake number 1 on ITunes for all the people complained he get the official number 1 only by streaming and now after 6 days he still gaining and number 1 in both. Must be A/B-Listed on Radio 1 tomorrow.
A listed on radio 2

Bit weird playlisting The Voice Australia runner up especially since it was released in July

Has a single voice uk winner had a playlist slot ?

Ew at Drake going to #1

Do you think Drake will be track 1 on CD 1 of Now That's What I Call Music! 99?

Unlikely, he's very funny about licensing to compilations now, Hotline Bling was only on NOW well after it left the chart and I don't believe any of his other recent singles have made it onto NOW.

'One Dance' was on Now 95, but nothing from him since has appeared.

Well 4 Minutes and Give It 2 Me we’re big hits still, and Celebration did ok in the charts so there was definitely still interest in Madge around that era and for a few years after.

MDNA definitely seemed like the point things stopped going so well. GMAYL just scraping top 40 (from what I recall it got hindered by instant grat rules at the time), seemed to be all most radio stations that cater to young audiences needed to justify not playing her anymore.

Has a Voice UK winner ever had a proper single with a full label launch?

I noticed a pattern that every artist who has topped the chart between 98 and 99 refuses to allow their music onto compilations (Ed Sheeran, Eminem and Drake) which means that NOW 99 could be without a #1

Ed Sheeran allowed Galway Girl on to 98, so might just let 'Perfect' onto 99. It's only SOY he hasn't licensed out to compelations.

They've all been signed and released singles, but I'd definitely not say full label launch  It says it all that the highest 2nd single (ie not their winning single) is Andrea's Dancing In The Dark at number 103  Tbh that's part of the reason why I can't get into The Voice properly, it hardly matters who wins. It's like a glorified karaoke competition, you get all these people saying they entered because they want to be as big as Beyonce or whatever but in reality if the're lucky they'll scrape like top 75 with their winning single and maybe have a one week wonder top 40 album. Say what you want about XF but at least even the likes of Louisa and Matt who've flopped as winners have been given something.

exactly lol. The most successful act to come from The Voice UK (Becky Hill) didn't even make the finals!
