Many fans did want a studio version and to the credit of Kylie she has provided the fans with it.

I would think there is some stronger material left in some vault than this from the Golden sessions.

 

For hardcore fans, the greatest hits is a disappointment with little incentive to buy but if you’re a casual fan then it does include most of her hits spanning the main eras. I wish they had issued a limited edition 3cd set including some bonus mixes and unreleased material.

As a hardcore fan i'm actually very happy with the release, I wish it was a 3cd release and a dvd release too but I just happy to have an up to date comprehensive collection

I’m happy with the content - I think for a Greatest Hits we’ve got exactly that. I’m also happy with the formats (although I think the cassettes are excessive) but I’ve ordered the complete bundle from her website plus the standard CD and green Vinyl from Amazon and will download from iTunes too - Kylie is snatching 11 sales from me in week 1 :wacko: :lol:

I do think this is probably more of a thank you to fans though tbh - Kylie tweeted ‘You asked for it and you got it’. On the deluxe version of the CD it’s showing as a hidden track but on the standard version it’s showing as being on disc 1?

I agree with the ‘Flower’ comparison - If only they gave us a CD single and picture disc vinyl again for a single like they did with that :cry:

^^ The bundle on her website was £130, that Amazon vinyl is £24.99 and the standard CD is £9.99. Far to much money but I’ve learnt from not buying everything in the past and then having to pay eBay prices for something I ‘need’ :nocheer:

3 separate girlfriends have messaged me the last 12 hours raving about NYC.

 

So people do know it’s out there, none of these friends are anything more than casual Kylie fans.

The song overall is almost unknown outside the fans but it is welcoming to hear it is reaching some people outside that base.

No show on the Radio 2 playlist today. Could this suggest it's not actually been sent to radio? Radio 2 are usually pretty quick to support Kylie.

That's my feelings too. I'm not too fussed though as it only seems to be a 'for the fans' type release and a little bonus for the greatest hits. If it were being pushed as a proper single, I'd have expected something a bit more substantial and progressive.

Interesting it’s not been playlisted by R2 when she launched the song on zoe Ball’s Show last week - as above at the moment I’m treating this as a buzz track/thanks to the fans.

 

Let’s face it she doesn’t need new material to sell a Greatest Hits rammed full of hits.

I'm kind of feeling that too. :( I was really loving it for about 3 days but it's kinda worn on me already.

 

I still really love how the intro bounces into it though.
