Well it's all relative - Three Lions' lead wouldn't be any different several years ago, it just would've had a higher sales figure (as would every song around it). I don't think its traction would've changed at all, a huge lead still would've had to have been eroded!

I suppose you're right. Isn't the iTunes chart a 48 hour chart though? if so then I'm really surprised it would still be among the top 5 most downloaded songs since Thursday afternoon.

I believe it's a 24 hour rolling chart, not 48 hour.

I thought a couple of years ago it was as said to be 48 hours due to the length of time a song which got released early (might have been all time low by the wanted) took to completely disappear.

It does feel that way tbh! I imagined Three Lions would fall much quicker.

‘Three Lions’ must still be selling TBH rather than it being held up by the 24/48 hour rolling chart - all other football songs have faded quickly including the 1998 version of 3L which was #9 and is now #59.

 80 Cher/Andy Garcia - Fernando

This to smash please after the release of Mamma Mia 2 and give Cher another hit :cheer:

 62 now - so pleased this is the one being cherry picked before the film is even released, Cher getting that 2018 relevance :cheer:

I’m shocked Raye isn’t taking off much quicker with ‘Friends’ it sounds absolutely massive to me.
Can you IMAGINE if Fernando takes off the same way This Is Me did

Cher managed a top 40 hit (with three weeks in the top 40!) as recently as five years ago, and obviously spent 7 weeks at No.1 with Believe at the age of 52 in 1998. She really is the queen of eternal relevance.

I would love her to get a big hit with Fernando but something tells me Mamma Mia 2 won’t be a huge streaming force.

I think The Greatest Showman captured the zeitgeist with its memorable original songs that appeal to all ages, and worked well as a set of songs people would want to listen to regularly in their own right away from the film, but a soundtrack of ABBA covers mostly sung by pensioners doesn’t strike me as something that will light up the Spotify charts! I’d love to be wrong though.

Lost Without You up to No.19 for Freya Ridings, apparently Scott Mills played it earlier on. A good sign for future Radio 1 support maybe? Its consistent performance on iTunes (and the fact it’s already had 15 million+ Spotify streams) shows that the commercial potential is there…
G'won 'Lost Without You', would love that to become a top 40 hit *.* I am constantly getting Spotify adverts for it at the moment!
