I'm relistening now to the album in order and the transition from False God to YNTCD SENDS me everytime 😂😂

False God

You Need to Calm Down

Afterglow

ME!

How on earth did they come up with this sequencing? I know tracklists matter less with Spotify and streaming, but you would think someone like Taylor Swift would really care about the flow of her albums. Choices~

I completely get why YNTCD was a single and why it was released when it was. It's an LGBTQ+ song isn't it? So Pride time was perfect for it. I don't think it was a bad single choice though. But ME! however, I dunno. I just think it woulda been better keeping it as an album track.

I do agree that ME! was the wrong choice for a lead single but when listening to it as part of the album it still jumps out to me because it has such a huge sounded chorus. It's a shame they picked it but I'm not going to act totally perplexed why they picked it. Plus it has a feature.

I'm listening to London Boy because it has gone viral on twitter for having cringy lyrics and upon listening, I agree that the lyrics are indeed embarrassing.

Let’s face it, Taylor’s ‘sweet’ song has become a cautionary tale about a carefree American girl who has saddled herself with a privately educated dude who does a job like ‘account executive’ for a marketing and digital strategy firm (a job he acquired through nepotism), who refers to all his friends by their surnames or as ‘mate’, while making her watch rugby in the pub.

Who is Taylor Swift's London Boy?

(The production is fine but bland if we're looking for a positive)

Okay soon you'll get better hit me really really hard today. I was full on crying, like tears rolling down the face crying ahh. It's such a beautiful song and lyrically is heartbreaking, and now I'm associating the lyrics with me and my brain infection last year and my fam during that time so the song is completely wrecking me  ❤️ It's a hard listen but def one of the most impactful songs on the album for me <3

On a lighter note, even though it's not one of my faves, I can't get the production of I forgot that you existed out of my head!! It's been stuck in my head all day 😂

My ultimate fave is still the man & Cornelia street <3

Using preference revealer. I’m gonna do this again in a week or two and see how much changes.

There’s no bad tracks on this though it’s a really strong album. The bottom tracks aren’t terrible just like 5/10s. .

So expecting these to be the charting songs for next week in the UK (spotify pending ofc)

1) Lover - surely gonna be the highest

2) The Man - doing best on AM + spotify playlisted

3) Cruel Summer - doing really well on both

London boy and i forgot that you existed just behind - former is rising + gaining buzz cos of the title here and the latter is opening track but I feel it's gonna fall throughout the week!

Remember YNTCD is now on ACR!

What a step up from 'reputation'! I'm so pleased with this record. '1989' is one of my favourite albums of all time so I couldn't be happier that this is more in the vein of that. I totally get every ounce of hype for those top two and they need to be singles ASAP!

Seeing posts on Twitter about how Paper Rings sounds like Breathe In Breathe Out by Hilary Duff

I’m sure people said that about Getaway Car too.
