February 3, 20196 yr Really loved "Faces", actually surprised it's so low, though it would be a real contender to win this.
February 3, 20196 yr Author TWENTY ONE • 71 points URQbnpd0lRA Pizzagirl • gymnasium • Brett-Butler Received: Silver from West Bronze from Travis& Mattias tE6y_-WpF_c HalfNoise • French Class • Lindsey Received: Silver from Popchartfreak & Jacob Bronze from Riser & MÿrtleSnow So we a lose a couple of the more 80s inspired tracks in one fell swoop here and, in the process, you've made the top 20 if you haven't yet been announced! :cheer: I found joy in both of these ones, the flute/panpipe noises in Brett's and the indie synth joys from Lindsey. The latter is unfortunate to miss the top 20 as the points deduction for not voting just pushed it outside, sorry Lindsey! :( And that's your lot for this evening folks, back tomorrow for the top 20! Feel free to speculate in the meantime... *.*
February 3, 20196 yr Holy Holy! I already knew of the band before the contest from a similarly decent song called 'You Cannot Call For Love Like A Dog' but hadn't heard this song before, quite liked it and glad it did alright!
February 3, 20196 yr Thanks dandy! Enjoyed this, apart from the last reveal as my silver medal drops out, and a personal chart top 20 track as a result - at least it had a moral top 20 position if not an actual :)
February 3, 20196 yr Four of my top five - and my own entry - finishing in the top twenty! Not bad at all!
February 3, 20196 yr Caught up with this, wow, talk about a flop :') But thanks Travis for the 10 and you, Jade, for pointing it too! I actually thought 'Heavy' was a fairly standout entry, at least in that it didn't really sound like any of the others and I thought it would be a good thing, shows what I know! It's totally MY JAM tho. I found 'The Great Elements' (the host's entry) really brilliant - what even with all the mehs + abusive Youtube comments as I've just found out :nono: Still think my 20-pointer has got this. Will you give me something pretty if that turns out to be the case, dandy*?
February 3, 20196 yr I got into the top 20 what??? Also really enjoying this way of revealing and revisiting, plus it's probably not as much work hosting as the scoreboards and many countdowns and adding ups! (tho still quite a bit.) I might take it on if I was ever to do one :o In other words I must say I really liked the host's entry on revisiting, v cool :D
February 3, 20196 yr lol @ me correctly guessing Dexton’s and Iz’s entries so far have only lost my 3 pointer and 2 pointer, I’m guessing the other votes really stuck out :P Also somehow top 20! Woo!
February 3, 20196 yr So far I guessed Iz's entry (no surprise there rly) and also Seven's - but the latter I kept quiet on plug for some stupid reason. -_-
February 3, 20196 yr Ooh Ramses the Evil Brother was actually one of my big pointers, definitely remember really loving the build up on that, sad to see it out. I also pointed Jade's entry, it's weird but I've somehow had it in my head for quite a while now! And top 20 for myself is nice to see~
February 3, 20196 yr woohoo Top 20 it seems like a thing to be celebrating in this :cheer: Also my medal points have yet to come so I am happy for that too (which let's be real I don't even know what are my top points )
February 3, 20196 yr THIRTY EIGHT • 24 points dQhfC2cuUcQ Nick Hakim • Vincent Tyler • DalekTurret32 Received: Silver from Blacksquare THIRTY SEVEN • 34 points pd5QbjJL62M ViVii • Siv (You and I) • JJAAKKEE Received: Bronze from Blacksquare Flop taste confirmed~ Both are great and clearly underrated Thank you for the results so far, Dandy! The format is wonderful too. Edited February 3, 20196 yr by blacksquare
February 4, 20196 yr I've just relistened to my entry for the first time in a while and it's pretty excellent isn't it? Very glad it found some fans and wasn't in a completely horrible position. And not everyone immediately guessed me, I do want to become sneakier. Shame to see The Do and Ngurra so low, the former band are normally excellent, and Ngurra stood out to me as having a fairly interesting worldy song. Think I remember Halfnoise being very good too without looking at my votes.
February 4, 20196 yr And not everyone immediately guessed me, I do want to become sneakier.I find this kinda surprising, like I know it everyone in this contest does BJSC let alone were in the contest I’m about to mention, but the fact that it had a similar vibe to Moe Shop was what gave it away
February 4, 20196 yr Ooh I'm still in! Two of my big faves in Faces and Gymnasium out but still a few others I like to come!
February 4, 20196 yr Author TWENTY • 75 points 0D-htjn6yk0 Blamma! Blamma! • Carry Me Home • PeteFromLeeds Sorry Pete but the last to post something like Oh I'm still in!!! curse strikes yet again. You're out! This was one of our more electronic entries, sounding to me like it could have been straight out of the Fedde le Grande / Bodyrox era. Received: Bronze from Jade
February 4, 20196 yr The best song to go out so far, that was my 10 pointer! Very good choice Pete. (For some reason I was almost convinced your entry would be 'Huff + Puff' though )
February 4, 20196 yr Author EIGHTEEN • 76 points bjfeG5OcRy0 LION • Oh No • HarryEzra Received: Silver from uhsting & Rush xKLui8nDMaY DÉMIRA • Dragons • MÿrtleSnow Received: Silver from NocheLuna Two more out as we have a tie for 18th place. First up is the Yeah Yeah Yeahs-esque Oh No as submitted by Harry, one that didn't do quite as well as I thought it would when he first sent it through. Mÿrtle also bows out here too with the lovely Dragons, a song I was rather fond of (my 8 if I remember correctly) and it's been bugging me who the vocalist sounds like - I keep going back to Delores from the Cranberries but I'm not sure it is her - help me!
February 4, 20196 yr Author SIXTEEN • 80 points 61uZV9Sc9j8 San Junipero • Stargazer • lewistgreen Recevied: Silver from bridgecow, Cody and Riser 3kh-skyj3D8 KITTY • Killer Eyes • NocheLuna Received: Silver from cucumberella & Oliver Bronze from uhsting Another tie next as both lewis and nocheluna go out here. KITTY was very on brand for this contest and deserved to do well for that alone, alas their killer eyes could only slay about 60% of the competition. Also out are San Junipero, an act that appear to have done far better than their sender was expecting given the shock at not being out way before this - with three silver placings it clearly was popular among some of our more dance pop leaning entrants. Slight spoiler here but the scores are all so low this time around - we don't actually break 100 points until we, handily, reach the top 10.
