'Swish Swish' isn't really one of my favourite Katy songs, the video is absolute tripe (Gretchen version is the only version for me) and the song is low key trashy too, but I enjoy and bop to it on a surface level and Nicki's verse is undeniably good. Saying that, I think it had the best chance of being a hit, 'Chained' aside on Witness, but the release was completely wasted and messed up. It's very lucky to have eventually rallied in the UK, just about managing a top 20 peak, but the long-winded 3-month roll out and wait for the video didn't help with either its UK or US peak. Also, shout out to the amazing Voice Australia performance. It's a shame we didn't get anything like that in the US or UK.

 

The one single Katy did deserve the hate for. Very trend-chasing and a world away from what she usually does/is good at. Plus the video was trying too hard to be viral. Just a bit cringe all around!

Horrendous. At least it's finally out.

The position of this one is a little disappointing, given it's one of my 11s, and it finished a lot higher in Troublepink's rank not too long ago. 'Bon Appétit' is a bizarre song, and I think the fact it was so unlike anything Katy had done before put a lot of people off initially. But a lot of people came round, and it kind of has a cult following as one of Katy's most loved an underrated singles now. Clearly it has a few haters still because it's finished lower than expected, but it's done pretty well for Katy's biggest own flop, given this is Buzzjack.

We're finally getting somewhere with these past three eliminations *.*

Swish Swish is an enjoyable bop. A bit dated now though. Bon Appetit is amaze! So underrated.

Bon Appetit is one of her best videos too. You can't deny those 705 million views! And for those who hate the rap and find it goes on too long, solo version goes off too!

 

Also, her Voice France performance is iconic!

The judges were shook at the dancing fruit and the French public were honoured by this homage to the French language, issa French top 10 HIT.

'Unconditionally' is a cute ballad that was infamously cannibalised by 'Dark Horse', which meant Katy had to move on faster than expected. It's also known for Katy's Japanese inspired performance at the AMAs where she wore a kimono and whitened her face, which got her in trouble for cultural appropriation. Probelmatic-ness aside, it's a rather beautiful performance and one of her best. Her Asian fans when asked all loved the homage to their culture.
