I like 9PM but "My Love Is Your Love" brings out such a nostalgic feeling in me as my mom used to listen to it a lot when I was a kid. Easily one of Whitney's best.

If this had been between the song ATB kept off the top in its second week (the dreadful 'Wild Wild West' by Will Smith and Dru Hill. Mainly Sisqo TBH given the others just stood at the back and did nothing but Dru Hill all the same) then there'd be no contest. But I love 'My Love Is Your Love' just as equally so I'm counting myself out the vote this time. Both of them were among my favourite records released in 1999 and are perfect examples of why it was such a great year for music.

I actually went for Whitney. I do love 9pm but Whitney’s track meant a lot to me at the time.

I voted for ATB. Killer dance song. Love Whitney but really not a fan of my love is your love.

Ironically these are probably the worst two songs in that entire top ten - they’re both still solid 8/10s mind.

I voted ATB. I love both tracks but ATB shades it in the nostalgia stakes by taking me right back to summer 1999 whenever I hear it.

ATB easily, classic :wub: there does seem to be a million different versions out there, they all sound great though I prefer the slightly more stripped back one.

Yeah only been two so far! We were discussing ideas in the chart lounge and Dan brought up doing a re-run of the Xmas 2009 chart battle when the time comes, so I thought it would be interesting to do the same for other 'chart battles' (whether they be close races to #1, big new releases entering at the same time or just songs that would be interesting to pit together).

 

I've had look back at those reaching anniversaries of multiples of 5, seem to have one poll every one or two weeks. Some interesting ones coming up!

Britney Spears at number one for a second week with 'Baby One More Time' and Blur new at two with 'Tender' - both amazing songs too!

Fun fact though, I believe the song's called 9PM because when ATB finished producing the song he looked at the time and it was exactly 9PM.

I did wonder about why it was called '9 PM'. Always seemed like a really early time for a trance song. :P

9PM is one of the greatest songs, let alone #1s, of all time.

I really like 'My Love is Your Love' although I don't consider it one of her very best like a lot of Whitney fans seem to.
