When was this filmed? Because I'm sort of surprised they got away with having such a small set since the whole co-vid19 "thing" has only made sets MORE expansive to allow for social distancing. I get that all the Queens are tested and kept sequestered during filming, but you have a lot of people behind the scenes that need to keep their distance.

It is New Zealand though- the clubs have been open for months!!!

You can tell by the editing, unfortunately.

I thought it was an ok start. Always feels weird to get rid of someone first episode but it was the right elimination (just a shame it was the Queen representing aboriginal culture)

 

I quite like Art Simone although none of them wowed me first episode

 

I would have put Coco in the bottom two

I felt like one of the pit crew members was definitely on screen during the mini challenge more than all queens combined. He was rather nice looking so I’m fine with that though

Maxi Shield is prob my fave queen & I have a huge crush on Anita, what a cutie!

Watched this last night and was a bit underwhelmed to start with. The sound seemed to be awful during the werkroom scenes with the music quite loud and the chat seeming to be quite quiet. The photoshoot felt a bit flat and Taika Waititi wasn't exactly necessary. The best bit was Ru just laughing.

 

In fact (for me) it didn't really hit its stride until they hit the runway. The sets were tiny though - also the runways were both borrowed from previous season openers (Season 7/ UK Season 2).

 

I really liked Rhys Nicholson and seemed to work well with Michelle/ Ru.

 

I was won over in the end and there were some good queens/ queens who had potential...

Quite a few we've wanted to see for a while so it'll be interesting to see how it goes! I'm screaming at Lindy Chamberlain, kind of a BOA doing Gypsy Blanchard thing, basically she was put in prison for murdering her baby but it turned out a dingo took and killed the baby so she was cleared, it's a really iconic case in Aussie history that was a cultural storm and huge controversy. Probably in bad taste but if it nails it I think it could be really funny tbh?

 

Catherine O'Hara and Magda Sbuzanski could be fabulous picks and ofc Dolly finally!! Fun fact, Trixie was going to Dolly for AS3's Snatch Game and even had the costume for it but of course she had to use it for the Divas Live episode when she was assigned her.

I'm watching when it goes on BBC but I can see from Reddit nobody seems to agree with the judging :lol:

There was no need for the judging to be the way it was this episode at all really bizarre?

 

Correct bottom 2 for absolute sure though despite Art’s fab runway look

 

I would have put Scarlet in the top group and put Kita in the low/safe group but they’re places were very interchangeable

 

Dreadful lipsync and lipsync song choice but so much more could have been done with it??? Also Etcetera was genuinely HILARIOUS in the challenge to me so was really happy to see her get such a good showing this week!

 

However Rhys remains my favourite of the series :heart:

VERY annoyed with the fact we got so little Minogue AND not even one of their songs but that awful Ru song.

 

Pretty shocked about the results, as Art was one of my favourites, at the same time she was the worst this episode. Seems a bit like a Joe Black situation where one of the most well known queens gets eliminated early.

I guess I was preparing for the worst when it came to the Snatch Game because the insiders claimed it was the worst one ever, but I guess I didn't think it was too bad? Unremarkable (which isn't a good thing) mostly I guess, but not as trainwreck as some of them have been.
