Isn't it WILD Elektra's track record should lowkey be BTM2-HIGH-WIN*-HIGH-WIN-HIGH but instead she has 2 bottoms and 2 lows? :drama: We overuse robbed a lot but I can't remember the last time a queen was overlooked like she is being. Her, Anita and Kita have carried this series for me, there's this whole storyline of the NZ quens being less or filler but they've been by far the most interesting and watchable (Elektra) or the most likeable (Anita and Kita).

*or another high I change my mind every time I think about it whether I'd give Elektra or Anita the win

My how I would have judged the series post for this is going to be a headache to try and sort out tbh

If Art had won the first episode the season would make more sense.

Karen would just be a Tina Burner, Art would have SOME justification for being back instead of it seeming like her tantrum did it, and the 'who would win' would seem more open.

Instead of it being Scarlet as THE frontrunner, Karen as starting strong and then bobbing along the bottom for 6 weeks, Art not doing anything of note all season, and Elektra and Kita being ignored.

bloop.

the nz queen are the TOTAL breakout stars from this season and i'm so happy abt that. elektra is amazing and deserved so much more. rly worried about kita's chances now :(

I found this week bizarre, why are they bothering doing a talent show if all they really cared about was what outfit they had on doing it? I don't really think any of them bar Scarlet were that exciting (unfortunately she easily won this week by quite some way) but at least Elektra had a talent to show! Karen just, as usual, used a character to cover up the fact there was nothing to her act, oh but her makeup was good so don't worry about it!! Nothing against Karen, I think she seems a nice person, but she has shown pretty much NOTHING and zero growth for this entire run yet always gets through.

A disappointing show but it definitely should have been Kita and Elektra safe with the other two at the bottom imo. As I said, at least Elektra had a talent to show, and she did that well, Kita wasn't outstanding but it was fun with her essence of joy injected. I just don't see how, in any way, they were worse than Art stuffing things in her mouth and Karen's blink and you'll miss it balloon animal. It feels like they only did Kita v Elektra in the bottom for storyline purposes, being the last two Kiwi queens and having the connection of House Of Drag and Elektra working at the Caluzzi for Kita and Anita, plus to me it seems like they were gonna have Art and Karen in the final no matter what, whereas the Kiwi queens for a lot of the season have been overlooked, underestimated and treated like filler when Elektra especially has been the standout star for me.

So this is officially the worst season ever?

Sorry but Elektra was the best in that episode. Blackface McGee is just really going to buy her way to the finale is she. Along with Miss One Balloon Animal and Miss Big Mouth who wouldn't get past the first round on BGT.

Idk if it's the *worst*, the cast of queens largely has been good at least. My problem is as I've said the bizarre judging and criteria, and mostly the way they've torn Elektra down all season when she's done well on pretty much every single challenge bar the first one, whilst Karen and actually to a lesser extent Art have cruised through. And like I said, it feels like the two bigger names have been carried through and would have been no matter what.

It's like... what do you want? Because Karen has given NOTHING all season, she has completely dived since her win week 1 and actually has been downright bad at *everything* bar the makeover which I still don't think was exactly outstanding. Elektra has done well at pretty much everything (despite what the judges have had us believe), consistently grown and taken the judges' comments on board, and still it's not enough. What's the point in setting all these various challenges if somebody who has failed everything put in front of them is in the final? Especially when they've said Karen needs to give more multiple times and she just... hasn't.

A few of the queens, mainly the NZ ones, have made this season enjoyable enough to watch but the judging has left.....a lot to be desired. I could've accepted one of Kita or Elektra being in the bottom 2 maybe (even though I think they were the 2nd and 3rd best in that challenge) but Karen being safe was an absolute joke.

Kita is now the only option of a winner that I'd be happy with. Scarlet I guess would be deserving in terms of her performance during the season but she's just not a nice person and if Art wins after being second out and randomly brought back for no reason at all I will scream

So many questionable decisions on this season.

Kita and elektra being bottom 2 was a choice.

Really hope Kita wins now, I’d maybe accept Art. Scarlett is SO Unlikeable and Karen has been such a disappointment

A weird final four. I think you could probably predict these final four from the beginning if you hadn't seen the show. I would love Kita to win but she hasn't been particularly stand out at all this season and would be quite a weak, forgettable winner unfortunately :( All the cards are there to crown Scarlett and I'm sure that would've happened if not for the viewer response. Art has been pretty good throughout but still not justified it with a win yet! Karen would be really disappointing as she's struggled to be anything but her character and has done quite badly throughout?

Interested to see what happens though, an unpredictable one for sure!

Don't even care, but I really hope Scarlet somehow still manages to win. It would just feel odd to have anybody else win with their track records. I've not been keeping up with the drama/fan response to Scarlet either because I'd rather just enjoy the show for what it is while it's on, and Scarlet has been pretty unbeatable the whole way through.

That talent show was a disaster for all of them, but Scarlet's routine was incredible and her runway was literally breathtaking. I wouldn't be mad at Kita winning because she's definitely a strong second, but it would just seem like defaulting, but if Karen or Art come close to the crown I'll scream

I’ve liked the queens this series but have found the series itself frustrating

8 episodes is not enough. With more episodes I think Art could have gained a win and Karen could have redeemed herself. Instead we have two queens in the final who shouldn’t really be there (and I love Art)

Karen should have been bottom 2 this week - it felt like Electra went into the bottom based on the other girls comments/to have a NZ bottom 2

Talent show performances were underwhelming in general, with an obvious winner but a winner by default

This whole season has been such a massive disappointment and the last episode just proves it. How the heck is Karen still in? She has been one of the worst since episode two, yet has been celebrated as if she is slaying the competition. Same for Art basically, who I loved in the first episode, but hasn't really shown anything special since coming back. The less said about Scarlett the better, she did very well this week, but how could anyone root for her to win? It would look so bad for the show as well, having a racist queen winning the show.. That leaves us with Kita, who I do like, but don't really see as a winner either.
Hang on Scarlett is still racist?

I was thinking the same when I read some of the comments.

I'll be honest I gave on this series after 2 episodes - so I don't know what's been shown etc.

I know Scarlett did black face years ago - however has since apologised and even Ru brought it up. I guess it goes into the argument of should someone be continually chastised for something they did in the past and have apologised for - has she changed, or is she still ignorant and displaying racist tendencies?

Certain aspects of celebs being 'cancelled' for things they did in the past irk me. For instance John Barrowman (who irritates me immensely) is really being cancelled for things he did about 15+ years ago. Things which were known at the time and were even referenced on things such as the DVD commentaries for Doctor Who. He apologised years ago and has done since. But now it seems that he has to be cancelled and removed from things - which just seems a bit silly to me.

Or even Jack Maynard being removed/ cancelled from IAC years ago for tweets he made when he was a teenager. I'm in no way endorsing the things he said. However he was young and ignorant. I just think there has to be a better way of doing things than people just being beaten for stupid things they've said in the past.

I know all three things I've mentioned are different - but I guess my train of thought veered from 1 to another.

I guess I should probably watch the episode where Ru confronted Scarlett to get a better informed opinion of what's gone on

This was the reason I asked the question. She apologised for her actions and acknowledged why it was wrong

You cannot hold someone to account for the rest of their life/career because of a mistake made!

she technically apologised but it was a shitty apology from what I can tell. i don't think a lot of people accepted it and i can't speak from personal pov as it's not my apology to accept

her friends are defending her on instagram being absolutely HORRIBLE to everyone. i confronted a couple of them (both are basic white gays ofc) after they responded in a very rude and borderline racist manner to someone's comment having a GO at this person making fun of them too. Interestingly, they were nice to me even though I was very passive aggressive and confrontational. I guess I'm a gay of a white variety so not the most easy target for them :')

"We were just defending our friend". If THAT is the way she lets her friends behave on her own social media then I doubt she's ready for a platform that comes with Drag Race.

I don't think cancelling someone is effective or even doable so Scarlett shouldn't be cancelled but she must not win either. A few years down the line she might be ready but not now.

let's uncancel sherry pie then

also please don't downplay intentionally doing blackface and profiting off that as "a mistake". it was intentional. might've been extremely ignorant but it was intentional

Being a sexual predator and what she did is extremely different though isn't it? Also the things she did were very current and not something she did due to being young, ignorant or both.

What Sherry Pie did was a lot worse (in my opinion). I think with Scarlett, she needs the time now to confirm through her actions that she had learned from the blackface incident.
