Seems like it was grower as we out performed our semi performance and seemed to be in nearly every single vote for the last 10 or so votes so those late voters must've enjoyed it! Unsure what I'll be doing next month but I better keep this streak going.

Congrats Noche, good to see the late votes only strengthening the lead of the song leading as of the original deadline! I definitely got a bit of a winner vibe from the very first time I heard it so definitely no surprise to me, though I believe I was the only person to call it as the favourite so PersepBet will be tooting their own horn for a moment xx great to see another country getting a first win even if it's not a song I super loved! (Was just outside my commiserations). Also cool to finally have a winner with over 300 points and an actual lead over #2 again :lol:

 

Charlotte Lawrence, as I pondered earlier in the contest, joins an elite group of artists who have both won a contest and come last in a semi-final - although interestingly it's the third time this year it's happened after, unless I missed something, never happening before that! I remembered that White Lies did the same thing in BJSC 111 (getting a win after their previous entry came last with 11 points, Charlotte Lawrence making an even better improvement as her previous entry got only 9 points) but completely didn't notice that Bree Runway did the same thing last month albeit the other way round (following a winner with a last place in the semi).

 

That geekery aside :P a shame that Jadakissnia lost their top 2 position that they had almost entirely throughout at the last second but still very happy to see another top 3 for them with another wonderful entry <3 congrats to Cody on snatching the silver as well ofc, your turn to have an AQ. Although having peeped the semi scoreboards Aeroche were this close to losing their qualification streak this month, seemingly only getting in because of the non-voters...! Makes 23rd place seem like a pretty decent finish after all... :drama: these last 2 entries have been among Aeroche's better ones of late so eek at them not connecting as much as most! Happy to see Hendinia getting another top 5 (been too long!) as well, and wow Kylienips came out of nowhere in the end, didn't really care much for this Au/Ra song but well done on one of your better results to date Mikey ~

 

6th is fabulous for Espen (slightly better than witch house normally does) <3 good to see Vülkyria get another top 10 too and Klum Rep recovering after the slow start. Ojnoj coming top 10 seems a bit surprising but maybe shouldn't be as Spotify pop seems to be having a resurgence what with CXLOE's result last month and now this! Greenfroze also doing extremely well for a K-Pop song ;o dece results for Cowtermont and Oslol (though I wanted the latter to continue their top 10 streak aww), yay for Wholune getting a first top 20 though deserved a bit better than that, also a dece result for TARO Bellamia though I expected it a bit higher, a solid debut for Sergeistan although a bit of a shame they faded so much from being in winning contention earlier in the results, better result than expected for Séyetana. Biggest disappointments here for me are Arcodesia and Trifoski which I thought would both do wayyy better than they did :( and Beaverdonia to a lesser extent. Would also have liked to see UVland and Terra Avium higher but not surprised at their results. Oops at poor brave Holland-Oats going from leading in the first scoreboard to coming last :lol: but still another contest where everyone got over 100 points so nothing really truly flopped and it was my least fave song in this final so not complaining at it coming last. Lastly... 'We Are W.I.T.C.H.' avoiding the bottom 10 *_* oh my

 

When I first found my entry I was sure it had the potential to be pretty big but in light of Boy Harsher's underperformance last month I can't moan too much at this getting a similar result to that as it is a pretty similar sound. 22nd is also alright when it only came 12th in what seemed like a dream semi haha. A tad disappointed I didn't get any 18s with my favourite of my own entries this year but still got three medal positions which ain't too bad, thanks to those who voted for Kælan Mikla ~ I currently have zero ideas for the next contest as I haven't really been searching for BJSC songs again so shall have to get on that soon as we'll probably want to move onto the next contest quite swiftly again to get back on schedule!

You did miss one contest this year - this is indeed your 45th contest though so your anniversary will be 123 (unless you miss any others in the meantime ofc)!

 

We have quite a few possible anniversary entries in the next few contests - Deandria and Vülkyria (and maybe Oslol although we've not heard anything from ducky) next month, Ultraviolenceland in 120 and myself in 121, oh my x then 123 will also be the anniversary month for Cor Lupus and Jadakissnia.

I didn't vote for it but that's a fine winner, decent pop song and all, congrats on your first win NocheLuna! :D

Well done to Lotunia, catchy pop song as was Strangers so great top 2..in fact the vast majority of the top 10 were fab!

I should add some context to my comments about this final. I mark each song out of 100. In every final before this one, at least one song has got a score below ten. This time, the lowest score was 25.

Congrats Lotunia! I've been craving a pop winner but oops at it happening with a song I didn't end up voting for :lol: Twas in my commiserations though so close enough!

 

Amazing to see the late surges for Kluminican Republic and Kylienips, from bottom 5 all the way to top 10 *.* 'We Are W.I.T.C.H.' escaping the bottom 10 was unexpected too! I'm surprised that FARC finished so low and disappointed that Tartford's entry didn't catch on. Thanks again to the hosts, excellent job!

Yes, my first and second this month were indeed my bottom two in last months final. That's an impressive achievement :lol:

Always great to see a new winner, and I did like the song even though I didn't vote for it- didn't see it coming as a winner but great modern pop, sounds super contemporary and can see how it did well!

...since BJSC 107 when The Delgados' 'No Danger' did exactly the same thing. :D It was also done by Gabrielle's '#sitterher' in BJSC 58 which actually somehow got 2 12s, 1 10 and 2 8s but still came last (it was once the record holder for most points for last place, and still is the record among contests that used the Eurovision voting system for the final). Those seem to be the only previous occasions!

 

Another small but less specific factoid I've noticed while updating some stats - this was FSR Rontvia's 100th finalist, making them the first nation to achieve that milestone (Hendinia and République d'Áskorza are tied in a distant 2nd with 84 finalists each, and I'm 4th with 73, slay)

If I’d known that BJSC was gonna finally do right by us with a top 15 hit I’d have dragged my barely lifeless carcass outta bed and into the voting booth sooner
