Like I said yesterday, it's rightwing gaslighting. The left has great social media preswnces. Okay. How to undermine that? Oh, allow LIES to be put out willy nilly. Then the befuddled public has no choice but to turn to the hard right press and one party state media channels. Those are full of right wing pro government propaganda like a failed state. Whoops. More brainwashing.

Of course they have a choice! The same choice as anyone else does.

I’ll admit I assumed the trash fire policy was already global but that it was only the US and it’s being extended after such a backlash is deeply damaging and highly suspicious. f*** Russia, Facebook are now the single largest threat to democracy globally. If we had a functioning executive we could legislate against this.

*This* is one place where being in the EU pays dividends. We can legislate at the continental level to prevent malicious acts by malicious companies to protect all of our democracies from attack. We stand stronger together against the US tech giants

The US is the enemy now?

Farage has just been on Andrew Marr rubbishing Boris's deal and saying he's putting a Brexit candidate in every constituency. He's not standing himself though.

A cynic might suggest that's so he can continue with his LBC programme. Candidates are barred from presenting radio or television programmes in an election campaign.

No he said it's so he can lead the Brexit campaign and not focus on just his own campaign.

Is there any right-wing loon whose every pronouncement you won't swallow whole?

He's not standing because he doesn't want to lose YET AGAIN.
You might want to go to specsavers because I never said that

It's clearly much easier to be deliberately obtuse.

Margrethe Vestager was actually reappointed European antitrust chief in September — which is a good thing.

Chris, he is not standing because he is not guaranteed he will win. It’s as simple as that, yes he can coordinate from afar but what party leader does not stand? Honestly I sometimes wonder what you actually want. It’s in the interests of the Tories for the Brexit Party to go away as they are going to take votes away from the Tories in the North, Midlands and South East.

It is interesting that that rule does not extend to any related political figures also. And perhaps it should extend beyond candidates to those involved with campaigns.

I suspect he knows he will get more attention not standing after having lost a record number of times and the signs not looking good should he just stand and fail again.

Honestly I sometimes wonder what you actually want.

"I want my Bwexittt!!!!"

***p.s. I´m not really quite sure what means but I saw a slogan on the side of the bus once and I liked it so it must be true. They also don´t like brown people(but I´m not racsist!)****

The 2010 series of The Apprentice had to be delayed because Lord Sugar was a Labour peer and Cabinet Minister at the time of the General Election. I'm guessing that it's because he now sits as a cross-bencher , and because of 6.7 of the Ofcom Broadcast code, that the current series isn't suffering from the same fate.

Who would of thought Nigel would be the answer to remaining in the EU. His campaign against Boris will likely cause a vote split between the Conservatives and Brexit Party. If people can tactically vote for Labour/Lib Dems/SNP/Green then we could see quite the swing to remain-backing parties. I have almost 100% confidence that the SNP will get almost every seat in Scotland at the very least. I do wonder if the Greens will pull a surprise and attain another MP.

In regards to facebook, that's insane. Surely what they're doing is against the law? Although in saying that I don't think there are any regularoty laws which are strictly upheld in regards to that, especially considering the type of stuff the tabloids publish.

I currently have a Labour MP and I will be voting for Labour again hoping to keep the Tories out (as they had it previously)

Where? They not even remotely close to winning anywhere else.

They won't get another MP. The Brexit Party has more chance than them and doubt they'll get one either. They may come close in a few places.

Ross Thompson, Tory MP from up Aberdeen way who is nothing but a party stooge with no thoughts for themselves - he’s quit over allegations of groping a labour MP and will not be standing in this election

Fantastic victory for victims of groping and the people of the North East that they no long have to put up with him as their MP

I am so so so happy that Margrethe is staying in post!!! She’s has had some fantastic victories for consumer rights

It won't come through this election but keep an eye on the Isle Of Wight, the Lib Dems have stood aside there (incredibly gracious with them defending 2k voters of course) to endorse the Greens, yay electoral pact working in some place. Now, they were third last time but I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of Green resources focusing on the Isle in an attempt to turn what's currently a safe Conservative seat into a battleground for future elections.

plus there's always the chance for Bristol West to roll back a bit. Correct that they won't win anything aside from Brighton Pavillion but I think a small swelling of support across the board is rather likely.
