Not a fan of Nice to Meet Ya sadly :( Much prefer Put a Little Love on Me - Niall's at his best with ballads imo. Too Much to Ask was the highlight of Flicker for me too :wub:

10 = Becky Hill & Weiss // I Could Get Used To This = 487pts

Chart Run (08-03-01-01-01-04-05-07-08-11-12-17-20-17-21-25-30-37-40)

Peak = 1 (3 Weeks @ Number 1)

Weeks on Chart = 19

Kicking off the top 10 is the first of two appearances by Becky Hill in my EOY top 10 songs. I Could Get Used to This managed a massive 19 weeks in the top 40 with 3 weeks at Number 1. I’ve loved near enough all of Becky’s output and is by far the best thing to come out of the Voice all those years ago. She seems to deliver smash after smash, however a big song of her being a lead artist seems to always allude her. This came close officially as it spent an ages between 50-41, however never quite made it; hopefully Better Off Without You manages it this year. I Could Get Used to This though was a great summer song and deserving if its top 10 position, Becky’s other song in the top 10 is Wish You Well, which spent 6 weeks at the top…

Thanks for commenting... Put a Little Love on Me was ok, but I just found Nice to Meet Ya such an instant bop :jump:

09 = Gryffin & Gorgon City x AlunaGeorge // Baggage = 494pts

Chart Run (15-12-02-01-02-01-01-02-05-08-10-13-16-17-16-X)

Peak = 1 (3 Weeks @ Number 1)

Weeks on Chart = 15 (Still Charting)

At 9 is a bit of a surprise hit on my chart in the form of Gryffin, Gorgon City and AlunaGeorge with their absolute bop Baggage. The song seemed to come out of nowhere really and after initially entering in the top 20, went on to climb to Number 1 and spend a total of 3 weeks there. In 2019 it spent 15 weeks on my chart and is still currently charting; all of those 15 weeks were in the top 20. The song is fantastic and really got into my head; Aluna sounds fantastic on it and it deserved to have success. Off course though it did nothing officially, however scores big here and gains a deserved EOY top 10. I’m still loving this sound to, so I guess could sneak into next years EOY chart too…

Nice To Meet You is my favourite Niall song to date, great to see it pop up here! Play was a nice song to start last year off with as well, not one of my absolute favourites but as you say as a Years & Years fan it would be higher up for you!

08 = Meduza ft GOODBOYS // Piece of Your Heart = 515pts

Peak = 1 (2 Weeks @ Number 1)

Weeks on Chart = 21

At 8 is the monster hit Piece of Your Heart by Meduza and GOODBOYS. This is another song which seemed to come out of nowhere and then went on to dominate my chart. Another dance bop (as you can tell I’m a slave to my dance bops) to top my chart; spending 2 weeks at the top and a total of 21 weeks in total on my EOY chart. Meduza have proved they’re not 1 hit wonders too with Lose Control also having quite good chart impact too. The song is instantly catchy and is definitely a song I’d return to and sums up 2019 nicely.

07 = NOTD x HRVY // I Miss Myself = 521pts

Chart Run (03-02-02-04-06-07-10-11-09-11-13-16-13-16-20-23-26-29-37)

Peak = 2

At 7 is the highest charting song not to get to number 1 and its NOTD and HRVY with I Miss Myself. I'm actually surprised this song managed to get as high as it has on my EOY, however the song peaked at 2 and went on to spend 15 weeks within the top 20 to amass as many points as it has. Its the fourth dance inspired song in my top 10... a bit of a theme going on now! It’s a shame this song never did anything officially; the curse of HRVY strikes again as its quite a good bop and the type of song that can do well when pushed and playlisted. Still a great song and it’s the highest placed song by HRVY, who seemed to have a great 2019 on my chart. All the songs remaining now have charted at number 1 on my chart and just six remain!

At 6 is the highest placed song by Jax Jones who has had another brilliant year on my chart. Last year Jax got 3 of my top 125, this year 5 songs placed on my EOY chart with This is Real being the highest. The song spent 4 weeks at the top of my chart after its release on Jax’s album Snacks and went on to spend the remainder of the year charting and is still in my chart. The song also sees the return of Ella Henderson who had some great songs before going out of the limelight; this though is a welcome return and I think is a shame it wasn’t released earlier, especially over Harder. However its an absolute banger and deserving a top 10 EOY finish, if it was released a few weeks earlier, probably would've pushed into the top 5, maybe even top 3!

05 = CamelPhat x Jake Bugg // Be Someone = 551pts

At 5 we continue with the dance hits as CamelPhat claims his biggest song on my EOY chart with Be Someone. The song was a long running top 10 hit and didn’t reach number 1 until its 11th week. It only spent 1 week at number 1, however a total of 13 weeks within the top 10. The song wasn’t an instant for me as Breathe, however has outpeaked it in the long run. Be Someone features Jake Bugg who I guess is a bit of an odd feature for a dance song given he usually sings on indie/ almost folky songs. However the song works so well with Buggs distinctive vocals across the dance beat. A fantastic song and a bit of a surprise hit that it did so well, however a great song to kick off the top 5!

Bit of a change up at 4 from a bit of a dance heavy top 10 in the form of Ed Sheeran. Now I’m in no way a big Ed Sheeran fan; in fact when his songs were all in the top 20 I thought it was awful and he was over-exposed. However Cross Me is fantastic, and I liked a fair few songs from his collabs album. I think its because they all sound different to his usual style and actually have a bit of life in them; Cross Me in particular, I just think is a great song. It entered my top on in its first week, however it wasn’t until seek 8 before it hit the top spot and spent 3 weeks there. The song in total spent 19 weeks on my chart and most of them were inside the top 20. I still love this song and is my go-to Ed song now; I love the chorus and whilst the rap was a bit eh? At the start I even love that part now and is a deserved top 5 EOY position for this song.

Taking the bronze medal this year is I’m so Tired… by Lauv and Troye. The song spent a massive 21 weeks on my chart, 4 of which were at Number 1. Troye scored by EOY number 1 last year with Dance to This with Ariana Grande, however misses out on doing 2 years on the trot by just 11 points. I’m So Tired… though is still fantastic and really gets in your head; it took over a month before it hit my top spot, however once it was there spent another month at the top. I do find Lauv can be a bit hit and miss and whilst I’m really loving Mean it at the moment, some of his other songs between this and Mean It have been a bit meh. I still return to this song quite a lot and I think Troye works so well throughout the song.

i'm so tired... is incredible :wub: So much love, and it really made me take notice of Lauv!
