Production wise, it reminds me of BTW more than DWUW (mixed with Government Hooker tbh). But I kinda get both from it. It's classic Gaga, without the huge, melodic chorus. The chorus isn't bad it's

literally just the instrumental with her shouting "I want your stupid love LOVE" occassionally

This sounds great! The pre-chorus is the biggest part of the song, followed by a both choppy vocal and instrumental, yet it still sounds very joyous rather than anti-climatic like so many songs that follow this format do. It does strike a good balance between something that could do really well on the charts but still sound authentic to Gaga. It's already stuck in my head!

I picked up on both comparisons too - there's the same electronic beat through the verses that 'DWUW' has and the breakdown does reminded me a lot of 'Don't Start Now'.

I'm usually underwhelmed by lack of a solid chorus from artists where I come to expect big pop moments but, with 'Stupid Love', I think amount of joy and life that bursts from the song more than makes up for the change to the format, which is usually where so many go wrong.

i like it. it is very standard blog-pop but with that aggressive gaga synth and that sort of artpop-ish jump-cutting

 

nothing groundbreaking but it's nice to have a decent song!
