January 20, 20206 yr I love PSB, but they are by far past their prime. Their previous album opened with 16k, can't see Hotspot doing that much. The Pop Kids was a minor hit too, new singles haven't got any attention.
January 20, 20206 yr They have a very loyal and consistent fanbase, don’t they pretty much religiously open with anywhere between 12 and 20k? The early reviews are much better than Super and Dreamland did well on iTunes. I think it will sell 12k at worst anyway. ———— Apparently they’re on The One Show on Friday btw Martin. January 20, 20206 yr 12k is probably doable for them. I'd love them to do better though. Electric (2013) is still a smashing album so looking forward to the new one too.
January 20, 20206 yr The fact Dua is STILL that close to #1 😨. Most robbed #2 since Anywhere. Wish the label would do some Yummy-type shenanigans to get her a week at the top
January 20, 20206 yr PSB had only one #1 album but four albums peaking at #2 and four other albums peaking at #3 Edited January 20, 20206 yr by Bjork
January 20, 20206 yr Weren't The Real Thing in last week's mids? They obviously missed a trick not calling the album GOLD. Anyway, Bombay Bike Club have sold at least one copy since these mids, the woman behind me in the queue at Rough Trade was buying it.
January 20, 20206 yr Great top 5 sales in the albums. The Courteeners should do 25k, Eminem 30-35k and BBC should still get to 16k with Lewis not far behind. Quite underwhelmed by Halseys performance. Great to see Michael Kiwanuka back in the top 20!
January 20, 20206 yr It might just be that he's recently discovered the Manchester lyrics? It appears so, yes. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-51173445
January 20, 20206 yr It would be insane if Eminem managed the double. I actually like the majority of his album. I’m hoping Halsey can remain top 5. Im hoping You Should Be Sad manages to top 25 this week though and outpeak Graveyard and nightmare!
January 21, 20206 yr C'mon Eminem, I'm rooting for him to get to #1, purely because I gave it a listen today and it's a great album!
January 21, 20206 yr Top 100 Albums 1 The Courteeners - More. Again. Forever. (21.8k) * 2 Eminem - Music to Be Murdered By (19.7k) * Wow - I assumed Eminem would walk it! :o He'll surely win in the end though. Edited January 21, 20206 yr by vidcapper
January 21, 20206 yr I imagine the courteeners would have had plenty of pre orders which is why they are ahead on the first update, with Eminem being a surprise release there would not have been any pre orders, so as he is number 1 on Apple Music and iTunes, he will probably sell more through the course of the week unlike the courteeners who will probably slow down
January 21, 20206 yr It's crazy how eminem can still be this relevant and this successful after well over 20 years and others cant, easy top 10 singles and albums with suprise releases
January 21, 20206 yr I was also thinking PSB will be in with a chance next week (of #1 Album) - the Reviews I have seen have been excellent and whilst they have been away for a while I think there is still an appetite for new PSB material and there has been a lot of Specials recently (TV and Live) to build up the anticipation. We will see , I guess Eminem will be favourite but 20K may just seal it.

January 21, 20206 yr A real close battle looks very much on in the singles chart. Delighted for Louise and her fans that the album has not dropped from yesterdays position.
January 21, 20206 yr That's going to be a very close battle between Roddy and Eminem, I can't even call it. Probably leaning towards Roddy when the missing data is added.
