Best premiere episode in YEARS (possibly since season 5/6). Really enjoyed each cast member and each one got enough air time which I really enjoyed. Routing for Heidi ofc but Nicky and Gigi pleasantly surprised me. Widow was ofc a FORCE and Crystal I also found myself enjoying. Jackie I see making it pretty far. Brita is the only one I’m not completely sold on as I’ve heard alleged stories of her being quite nasty so makes me hesitant to warm up to her

Really happy that no one went home this week! Even from the 'meet the cast' video I think all these queens have strengths and more to them than just a one episode. Widow SLAYED that lip sync and Gigi would've been brilliant but she ways always going to be overshadowed when playing to a schtick versus the acrobatics of Widow.

 

I thought Jackie Cox would've been the winner personally and I think she is one to watch as we know she has personality but also had three really well put together looks and isn't afraid to speak out. I'm also excited for Gigi and Crystal Methyd.

 

Also props to Nicki for being a brilliant judge! She offered a different opinion to the judges based on her background and gave personality without overstepping her role! Also you could see she was genuinely passionate about what the queens were doing and the lip sync gave her life :lol:

Brita is giving me huuuuuuuge vibes of Maddelynn Hatter from Dragula, there's that whole "I've been doing this longer so I'm the best" vibe and she has so much to say about everyone else's shit with not a lot to back herself up :lol:

 

Everyone else though I really like, I agree this could be the best season in a while! Maybe they saved the worst ones for the other episode but there's no weak link really, and it's refreshing you don't see the cast and go "oh there's the first out". Nicki was a fab judge, I liked that for once we didn't have a looks challenge episode one as a performance plus it being split really gave us the chance to get to know everyone a little bit more than we usually would. Jackie and Gigi would be my initial faves, really excited for the latter especially!

On first look, gigi, widow and Jackie are my faves like omgg when widow did that jump into split I gasped holy shit.

 

Nicki was fab as guest judge tbh. Had some good things to say.

Such a great episode! My fav is Jackie, but I like all the queens. Widow slayed this week and deserved the win. Glad to see no one go home. I hope future seasons are like this, as it gives the queens more of a chance to show off their talents. I honestly couldn't say who the bottom 2 would be if it were a normal episode, as everyone did well.

I'll watch again before making a proper review, but I seem to be somewhat against the grain in really liking Brita but not being too keen on Widow.

All the cats seem very talented and very distinct though which is great - and what a way to start the season with 3 looks each and a live performance!

I don’t think there was a single queen this episode I didn’t fancy tbf. Also just wanted to mention I LOVED the fact we got 5 looks from each Queen this episode, the gay camp content from the show we need

Watching this now and 7 strong Queens... Widow could become possibly very irritating. However appears to have the talent to back herself up.

 

Loved Nicky Doll; especially in the talking head section.

 

I guess if there is 2 weeks of no-one going, we shouldn't have any double saves, or bringing Queens back which can make the middle of the season feel like there's no progression.

What a fabulous start! Really liking all of them at the moment, but agreed with ElectroBoy that Widow has the potential to become incredibly irritating despite being super talented.

And agreed with all the above comments about Nicki - she seemed like one of the only judges I've seen on the show that actually had a LOT of constructive/warm feedback to give, and just living her best life.

I really loved this episode. It was so refreshing!

 

I am not too sure on Widow just now... She reminds me of Latrice Royale (who I am not a fan of) in terms of the 'Hello, its ME' kind of arrogance.

Absolutely loving Widow and Heidi at the moment, they were my fave two from the promo and that's carried through! I really like them all though :o PS. Jackie Cox is GORGEOUS.

Yeah Widow was just too much for my liking in that lipsync performance.

 

Like she was going to hurt herself by bouncing back and forth, up and down just to overshadow GiGi.

I thought it was a really strong episode. I was disappointed when I realised somebody had to go, so I was pleased when they all stayed. I warmed to them all, although my faves are definitely Heidi and Nicky so far.

I agree that was like one of the top looks along Nicky's fall look as well!!!

Widow went way over the top. We've seen all she has to give now & her storyline is done from ep1. Also her runways were nothing special.

 

Brita was middle of the road & their critiques were kind to her.

 

Gigi was giving me Adore Delano which was kind of odd! Given that I've heard of her as the frontrunner.

 

Heidi I thought seemed weak but gradually redeemed herself. I got Baga Chipz from her confessionals. How much story does she have though?

 

I thought Jackie was prob my fave after this one. Reminded me a bit of Bendelacreme in terms of how she was positioned. Could see her finishinh similarly.

 

Disappointed by Nicky Doll who was funny in confessionals but nothing earth shattering otherwise. And then Crystal was like Milk on acid. Wouldn't be surprised to see her lipsync soon tho to put the fear of god into her to make her diversify the next episode.

 

Think Gigi is still a good shout for high placing but this episode didn't feel like a winner's edit, so I'm intrigued going forward! My other shout for high from the previews was Miss Sherry so I'll be keeping an eye on her!
