As much as I love 'Focus' I'm definitely shocked to hear it was ever 9th in an Ariana singles rate! After checking the thread it appears I didn't even vote, which makes it all the more shocking

I love 'Focus' and 'Bed' - I don't get the hate! I would even go as far to say that I prefer 'Focus' over 'Problem'!

Just missing out on a place in the top 20 is 'Popular Song'! It may not quite be the most popular song in this rate but it actually is the most popular video on MIKA's YouTube channel. Ariana's impact! This song was originally an album track on MIKA's 'The Origin of Love' album with vocalist Priscilla Renea. This album version is pretty different to the updated version with Ari, as the tempo and production are different and it features mature language too. Then along came Jason Nevins (yup of 'It's Like That' fame) on production duties for the new radio version with Ariana on vocals. 'Popular Song' is based on the song 'Popular' from Wicked and takes on the theme of inspiration, as the lyrics are about overcoming bullies and making something of yourself. It's a bit of a cliché and cheesy theme but 'Popular Song' is fun and catchy all the same, with a slightly crazy video to match! The visuals see the pair in a gothic themed school brewing a potion and turning bullies to stone, amongst other things. Some of you really love this - with multiple 10s being awarded! But others are clearly less keen. We have an understandably divisive song on our hands. 'Popular Song' was later added to Ariana's debut album 'Yours Truly', so with this dropping out, that means 'The Way' is the highest 'Yours Truly' song in this rate! But where will that place? This is what the top 20 looks like in alphabetical order...

I have a real soft spot for 'Popular Song'! Although I think 'The Way' slightly edges it as my favourite single on 'Yours Truly', so I'm glad that's in the top 20.

Oh wow I forgot Popular Song was still to come.

I would have certainly ranked it lower but I’m not mad to see it here.

20 6.79 Bang Bang (Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj)

Scraping into the top 20, our next out is the '10s anthemic answer to "Lady Marmalade". It served as the lead single for Jessie J's 3rd album 'Sweet Talker', as well as being the first bonus track from Ari's sophomore album 'My Everything', being released only a matter of a few weeks following 'Break Free'. We also got a smashing verse from Ms Minaj. The music video has an INSANE amount of views, now coming up to 1.5 billion, 2nd only to 'Side To Side'. The song SMASHED pretty much everywhere, becoming one of the biggest selling songs for all 3 artists. It went on to be certified...

USA: 6× Platinum

Canada: 5× Platinum

Australia: 3× Platinum

UK: 2× Platinum

New Zealand: 2× Platinum

Norway: 2× Platinum

Italy: 2× Platinum

Germany: Platinum

Denmark: Platinum

Japan: Gold

As well as selling over 1 million copies in South Korea.

That's insane.

On Buzzjack we have another case of Marmite, (as is with many of these middle tracks) with many loving it and others loathing, along with plenty of mid/high average scores. Many say it has become grating over time, what are your thoughts on this sexual girl power anthem?

I’m glad Bang Bang is our next. I love Ari & Nicki’s parts but Jessie really lets the team down.

Either Everyday or Dance To This to drop our next please.

Focus would’ve sounded so out of place on Dangerous Woman although it would’ve fitted on My Everything rather well.

Was just thinking, maybe they should have considered a rerelease, but I guess at the time she was already teasing "Moonlight".

And I also think it's unjustly received, definitely would have bumped it up to the top 20.

I do however think Bang Bang dropped out at the right time!

Going by my ratings, I'd have either Dance To This or Everything out next also.

With 'Bang Bang' dropping out that officially means that 'Dance To This' is the highest feature in the rate :o thrilled about that

My feelings on 'Bang Bang' are well-documented by now - really not huge on it oops! Quite the screechfest. Glad it gave Ari another #1 though and a fourth music video to her name with 1 billion+ YouTube views (the others are Side To Side, Break Free and Problem)

Bang Bang gets such a hard time :( It's so good!

Popular Song though...  Really, REALLY under appreciated  Ridiculously catchy, pure pop goodness!!

Bang Bang snaps!l

I’m not a massive Jessie fan and 95% of the time I can’t bare Nicki and think she’s a serial song ruiner but this is a rare for me where I really love a song despite not being huge fans of 2 of 3 artists on it (Ariana being the exception).

As far as My Everything era Ari goes this is definitely better than Problem and Break Free!

As far as My Everything era Ari goes this is definitely better than... Break Free!

You're not allowed to curse on this forum!

19 6.95 Everyday (feat. Future)

Highest: George.keh, Cameron + LMLou (10), Riser (9) / Lowest: Wall (2), ...ready for it + Jordan Lee (4)

Next up at #19 is 'Everyday', the first single to drop out from the 'Dangerous Woman' era! Ariana teamed up with rapper Future on this release. On the team-up, she said: "I knew I wanted to work with Future, but I didn't know if we could find the right song to do together because we're so different, but we found a dope vibe and it's very unique and exciting."

'Everyday' blends electropop and trap music together, one of many different genre hopping moments from the 'Dangerous Woman' album. The song is one of Ariana's more lyrically explicit songs for sure - I think you all get the picture when the main hook is "he give it to me everyday"! The video takes this theme and runs with it, as we witness a whole lot of PDA from couples of different ages. Ariana looks on with very memeable dancing and expressions. She's sporting a fringe and space buns in this video also, a look very synonymous with the 'Dangerous Woman' era. Future appears in the video too, delivering his verse where he paints himself as a bad guy. 'Everyday' was released as the fourth single from the 'Dangerous Woman' era. This was coming off the back of smash hit 'Side To Side', was trappy and had a Future feature. Sounds like an easy recipe for success right, something that would be eaten up on streaming? Well, sadly this single underperformed as it only reached #55 on the Billboard Hot 100 and failed to even crack the Top 100 in the United Kingdom. Hmm. What a shame as I think a lot of you (BuzzJack definitely houses many a 'Dangerous Woman' stan) can agree that this era could've ran on for miles and miles quality-wise. Still, it showcased something different from the era to the general public members that actually did sit up and take notice.

'Everyday' is a banger! I'm less fond of the video though x

Everyday was held back on the promotional push and radio and streaming due to One Last Time being pushed so is partly due to it’s lack of chart success. Anyway, one of my favourite ever Ariana song guilty as charge

I looove 'Popular Song', it's one of my go-to feelgood numbers.

I still can't get my head around the decision to release 'Everyday' over 'Greedy'. Like, what the actual fuck?

I also am still traumatised at the Greedy snub. Even though Everyday was released as a single, Greedy still charted higher. She really teased us with those televised performances and I NEEDED a video for it. We could have had money, candy, gold and sex, but instead we just got A LOT of sex. I do love Everyday, can't help but dance around like a loon when it comes on, however Greedy and ofcourse Be Alright were RIGHT THERE.
Never really warmed towards 'Everyday', 'Be Alright or 'Greedy' or both would have been better options as singles.

Everyday is a bop! I heard it on a night out recently and it slaps.

There was definitely better choices to release from Dangerous Woman, but it wasn't the worst possible choice or anything.

I like 'Everyday' but it an awful choice of single. There was so many bops on Dangerous Woman to chose from I don't know how they ended up with that.

I would have loved to have seen Bad Decisions being the single.

Bang Bang is abysmal in its current state. A better chorus would have elevated it SO much, the chorus they left in is literally sounding like a demo done by session singers.
