Just bought a card game and one question refers to Sean Kingston as a one hit wonder
There's lots of dance acts that would fit this from the 90s. I'm thinking the likes of Urban Cookie Collective, Rednex, Haddaway, Corona, Ultra Nate, Real Mccoy, Corona etc

Corona so notable they're mentioned twice! :D

Gotye & Kimbra – Somebody That I Used To Know

They most definitely are one hit wonders though....!

Gnarls Barkley and Owl City came to mind instantly, the latter especially as he always seemed such an obvious one hit wonder even at the time, that it’s so bizarre he got another hit!

Speaking of dance acts, Fragma too. It's a shame coz 'You Are Alive' is SO much better than 'Toca's Miracle' to me :snif:

The thing is I just think it's forgotten about rather than people not remembering how it goes etc.. I think if you sang a part of 'Fire's Burning' to some one then they'd be able to sing some of it back to you for example.

But he's a tricky one. He's definitely mostly known for Beautiful Girls, but I wouldn't say nobody knows FB etc..

'Party All Night (Sleep All Day)' surely has to be just as well-known as 'Beautiful Girls' if not moreso these days? Inbetweeners film impact etc.

There's a fair few more acts who had quite a few hits in the 90s but aren't remembered for anything other than one song by the general public at all... I'm thinking of the likes of Macy Gray, Michelle Gayle, Sinead O'Connor, D:Ream, Right Said Fred, PM Dawn, Shakespear's Sister, The Shamen, Whigfield, N-Trance etc

You could even arguably lump the likes of Natalie Imbruglia and Everything but the Girl in there.

It's not even top 5 on his Spotify page  (+ I forgot all about it and thought it was FB in 'The Inbetweeners Movie' lmao).

I only really mean in the UK, I don't think it was a notable hit anywhere else (since it was entirely because of The Inbetweeners).

I may just be biased because I am a fan of The Inbetweeners but still, I'd say it's at least more likely to be recognisable to people in the UK than 'Fire Burning' x

Could Sigrid fit into this category as well perhaps?

Sigrid never really had any particularly huge hits, just 2 relatively big ones, so I wouldn't say so.

Procol Harum are remembered for A Whiter Shade Of Pale but did have another top 10 hit with Homburg.

Scatman John had a massive hit with Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop) but did also have another top 10 hit with Scatman's World.

And Radio 1 once played Kosheen on a one-hit wonders programme despite the fact that they had 4 top 15 hits...

Vanilla Ice came to my mind first. Just wanted to say he had one more hit but he actually had four top 40 hits in the UK :o
