Enjoying seeing acts like michael ball, vera Lynn and katherine Jenkins in the singles chart as it's a rare moment. Gerry cinnamon has great album sales which seems even better with how things are. Enter shikari also have impressive number 2 sales.
good sales for Gerry Cinnamon, hope he can manage to stay top 40 in singles somehow

well he's doing better the other newies below him (Playboi Carti, Nafe Smallz, Ava Max)

Ya I'dove him to finally get a much deserved top 40 single, I wish the same for Jack savoretti aswell someday.

Rina is just outside the top 100, in fact!

Omg that's not good at all, I was hoping for a top 40 album :( The album is too good to be slept on!

Loving those sales for the Top 2 albums especially as they will be so physical format led :cheer:

And a 12k increase on yesterday for Captain Tom - we love to see it.

Fiona Apple heading to her first top40 album, possibly  . Her highest peak was in 1999, #46 with... get ready: When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'fore He Enters the Ring There's No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right.

On the singles side, Miss Ava needs to step up her streaming so she can ensure a top40 entry this week.

Yeah I remember reading about that album title, it's beyond pretentious :drama:

Thought Duke Dumont may be in the top 40 in the first mids but it seems not. His star has really fallen.

I think his star fell a good few years ago tbh.

Im always wary of streaming to be added so i hope Captain Tom cant be caught, although they need to keep selling to safely take number 1

The remake of YNWA is actually not bad at all and am glad it will hopefully be No.1.

Great sales for Gerry, Radio 1 will have a field day if Gerry releases Canter as a single :D just listening to it now.

Too many charity singles around at the moment, the No.1 its not that perfect, but in the light of what is happening in the world its quite fitting, It seems strange I'm sharing my birthday with Captain Tom Moore I feel so honorable to a war veteran. I just hope we don't have a new charity track every week, as I can see another new charity track is going to be released this Thursday a cover of the Foo Fighters track, I quite like the original.

Canter was released as a single last year, R1 didn't playlist it though.

what do you mean by "his star fell" - dance act never been a good album sellers and in recent times it's hard to get top 40 single with the music he's producing.

He is still a great house music producer I don't see any downgrade of quality of his music tbh.

Really hoping Ava breaks top 40 this week. Deserves better than #41 as a peak.

Also rooting for Rina Sawayama on the albums. One of my fave discoveries of the year.

Very happy with a potential 4th week in Top 20 for Little Mix again without any of the promotion they usually rely heavily on. Great to see them back on form - so rare for a pop group to achieve this after almost a decade in the game.

It’s risen about 15 places on spotify today and today’s mids exclude spotify data. it’s risen on youtube too and that too is missing

I genuinely think "Love Song" off of this album is the best thing he's ever done, and one of the best dance tracks of the past few years. He may not be able to have commercial success in the charts like he initially did but he's killing it in quality terms.

re: Duke Dumont - losing his relevance as a chart act was basically his own decision, he did an interview with Billboard recently where he basically says he lost his interest in getting chart hits and would rather just make whatever he wants to. he very easily could have taken the path of Jax Jones and kept getting smashes, especially after Ocean Drive which was a huge hit worldwide (500m+ YT, 250m+ Spotify).

From Music Week -

The Official Charts Company Midweek Sales Flash is in and we could be in line for new No.1s in both the singles and albums charts.

Gerry Cinnamon has sold almost 23,000 units of The Bonny (22,833 sales) already, and takes an early lead over Enter Shikari’s Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible (9,509 sales) in the albums chart.
