Out first is a shocker. :o A fave in some corners of this forum, the second (and last) Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus gets eliminated with a quarter of the overall votes so we say goodbye to her coronation single 'All This Time'. The song sold over 117,000 copies to land at #1 - where it stayed for 3 weeks in January 2004. Although it was one of the fast-selling singles of the year in the UK, compared to previous winner Will Young's 1m+ copies sold in a whole week - and even Gareth's successful debut, it felt like a massive step down. As for the song itself, I actually quite enjoyed it back in the day. It is very "of its time" but there was something very empowering about it and Michelle has some pipes on her! Bless her, she was never going to be a star in that climate though. :tearsmile:

:') well I do like an unexpected first exit as Michelle wasn't even getting many votes at all to start with. I'm glad Gareth is still in for another round at least. There's worse than that guys (looking at Estelle and La Roux 😒).

Hmm I don't like either of IFTK or AB and would say they are equal so since the last thread I think I'll actually vote 'In For The Kill' but will be back to Estelle once this goes!

I've gone for In For The Kill. :kink: Slightly strategic in order to save Gareth since he doesn't deserve to exit so soon and I'm not a fan of IFTK (Bulletproof is far better!) Westlife have been spared my vote this round. :lol:

Clearly I overestimated that song's popularity on here, good outcome.

Still quite a bit of dross here, going for McFly next. Some of their songs are alright (if just an inferior Busted) but All About You is bland and annoying.
