Not really sure what the point is of them releasing the non-mixed version of this a week later than this version :') think I will wait for that to come out before checking out any other remixes here, I wasn't planning to listen to the whole thing anyway. x

Major disappointment :/ beyond bad mixes
I'm listening now. It makes much more sense as a cohesive album (listening from beginning to end). It sounds like one long DJ set. I don't think I'll go back to it often, but I finally realise what they're trying to do.
I was disappointed by 'Levitating' in isolation but as a whole album the vision is clear and I'm really into it *.* I hope a vinyl gets released at some point!

- ok but why doesn't the Break My Heart / Cosmic Girl mix slap? It literally builds up and then they fade out the chorus?? GAH

I echo the sentiment here, not sure if I'm going back to this album much~

Agreed- I did like it but I can’t imagine myself revisiting many of them

I'm sorry but this is such a slam dunk. She could have easily thrown together some designed-for-Spotify remix album with expected chart-friendly DJ's and artists (basic) — but she didn't, and instead dipped even further into the entire premise of Future Nostalgia. I don't think a lot of people realise just how perfectly they have captured the vibe of an early noughties late-night radio show, or a club compilation remix album from that era. The bootleg mashups, the callouts, the choice of collaborators. Ingenious. 'That Kind of Woman' sounding like a lost Kylie/Xenomania track from 2004? Yes.

Remember, this is in addition to an already great album that she is clearly not abandoning.

Given the names involved and how this was marketed, I'm very underwhelmed.

I feel like they imagined The Blessed Madonna would be a bigger draw.

Maybe I wasn't expecting as much as everyone else but I really quite like this. It's a remix album that I'd actually choose to listen to, it's a journey and an entire project instead of just being a load of disparate mixes chucked together for no artistic reason.

I can't really comment on the individual mixes because that misses the point, I'd only ever choose to listen to this as a whole in the same way as I'd listen to the Soulwax 2 Many DJs albums from the late 90s/early 2000s. It's essentially a concept album and I think she's smashed it. I'm majorly impressed that she's even attempted to produce something like this, it adds further to my view that she is a real artist and I think this is a really impressive body of work in an area that she's never really delved into before.

It's not really even comparable to the original album as the ambitions for both are very different - but it's amazing that she's managed to pull off two really cohesive projects this year, even if they are both obviously linked.

Tbf the best thing on it is the levitating remix
My favourites are the Joe Goddard and Yaeji remixes right now! Although like Dandy I'd rather just listen to the project in its entirety.
This is truly a DJ compilation for the dance stans and I love it. It’s definitely one that needs to be played as a mix rather than individual tracks
I wasn't expecting to like this much because the Levitating remix was a bit disappointing but it's great! Really love the club atmosphere and all the stuff that goes on between tracks. My favourites were the Joe Goddard and Zach Witness remixes, I'm a big Yaeji fan but that one didn't quite click for me yet. The only thing that really didn't work for me was Break My Heart mixed with Cosmic Girl, the title track would've been a far better match for Jamiroquai.

When the middle bit kicked in of Cool I was hooked! Don’t Start Now May have to take a few listens but I like what Yaeji has done. Echoing a few others’ comments about Love Is Religion being fab too.

The only damp-ish squib for me is Good in Bed

Can confirm that this is 10/10 workout music :cheeseblock:

‘Love Is Religion’ now also emerging as a favourite

I’ve just skipped to ‘Love Is Religion’ because I heard a snippet of it and it is GORGEOUS, exactly the sound I’d imagined when she announced this club project

I’ve listened to about half the tracks but I can already tell this is way more enjoyable as a full piece (Levitating remix still meh though) so at least I can appreciate this project even if I won’t necessarily return to most of the song individually.

@ people who are complaining about this not being a pop album- just don’t listen to it?
