I never realised how few there had been in the last decade of #1 international female debuts. From a quick scroll I think the one before Meghan was Lana almost 9 years ago now (for solo females anyway)

Edited by LMLou

Debut albums by international artists don't get #1 in the UK very often full stop, these are the only ones since 2010 (excluding one-off soundtrack albums like Les Misérables/The Greatest Showman etc. obvz):

2010 Glee Cast - Glee: The Music, Volume 1 (lol)

2010 Brandon Flowers - Flamingo

2011 Bruno Mars - Doo-Wops & Hooligans

2012 Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

2012 Jack White - Blunderbuss

2013 HAIM - Days Are Gone

2015 Meghan Trainor - Title

2019 Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

2019 Dermot Kennedy - Without Fear

Interesting that no one seemed to notice last year when Dermot had the first #1 international male debut for an even longer period of time  xx In fact Dermot was one of only two in the entire decade if you exclude Brandon Flowers and Jack White for having had substantial careers as members of groups before their debut solo albums.

(in my first time checking through this list I forgot that Dermot Kennedy is international - does Irish really count?? xox - and was about to make the ultimate 'well ACTUALLY' move of the century in pointing out that Pop Smoke would get the first international male #1 debut album since 2012 if he got there this week, alas not quite the case :kink:)

Ava reduced to £4.99 on iTunes and CD/Voicenote the same price on her website - seriously this happens weekly now, crap for fans that’s pre-order or buy on day of release.
You being serious....crap that they miss out on £4 cheaper....
Ava Max reduced your £4.99 on ITunes so that could help 😄

On Amazon is this price

Hope we get an update today, intrigued to see where Ava is and if that £4.99 deal has extended her lead.

Also hoping Gaga has snuck top 40 on albums, she wasn’t too far out yesterday.

Something quite interesting is that this will be Keith Urban's second UK charting album after 2006's 'Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing' - and that only got to #73!

How much has Pop Smoke closed the gap since yesterday? That's the relevant 'lead' for Ava, she was never going to be caught by the other new entries.

Looks like RTJ's album is safe to get a new peak, hoping that it has a chance of remaining in the top 10 - will only do another few hundred this week but 4.3k was enough for top 10 last week! Would be great if Charli could get a new peak too, though it could very well do a Fiona Apple and just re-enter at exactly #33 again

Rooting for Ava but looks like Pop Smoke has a good chance. Especially with streaming being missing. She needs a bit more of a push I think.

Edit: Pop Smoke had 4.0k last Tuesday and finished on 8.4k. I don't see Ava clearing 8k so it's looking unlikely for her unfortunately.

Just over 450 units.

Or a little under 1/10 of the people who tested positive for Covid-19 in the UK today.

I hope Sigala & James Arthur can keep climbing now, good to see Ava Max stretch her lead by a litle but but number 1 still isnt safe for her, very little buzz around the new Alicia Keys album but would like if she stayed top 10 but dont think she will.
