Anyone able to say if the Mood Remix will give it enough of a boost to get reset from ACR?

I don't have any figures but I very much doubt it. Mood did roughly 20k units last week so would need around 25k this week, for which it would need to be in or very close to the Top 10.

I think they've been the most successful X Factor winners for quite a while now. They're well beyond that.

That is true, I’d suppose they only contestants in general in the same league would be One Direction and Olly Murs if I’m correct?

Rylan Clark as well, but successful in TV rather than music of course

I only just realised that Disco is going to have Kylie's best opening week since 2010's 'Aphrodite' - Didn't see it beating Golden in all honesty.

2003 - Body Language - 68,866

2007 - X - 82,370

2010 - Aphrodite - 79,152

2012 - The Best of Kylie Minogue - 9,703

2012 - The Abbey Road Sessions - 37,556

2014 - Kiss Me Once - 29,251

2015 - Kylie Christmas - 15,881

2018 - Golden - 48,032

2019 - Step Back In Time - 31,980

Those sales for Body Language and it only managed to enter at #6 and the same for X which entered at #4 :cheeseblock:

That's RIDICULOUS for her to have her best seller since Aphrodite in a time where album sales are plummeting! Get it Ms Minogue.
She's clearly picked up a whole load of new fans along the way :)

I doubt her or Little Mix would have sold anywhere near this amount if there wasn’t a highly publicised and competitive chart battle this week. Doubt either would have crossed 40K if the other wasn’t releasing.

If you want to go down that route stacey Solomon says hi

Yeah - what Shadow said basically.

Whilst both Kylies and Little Mix’s sales are both pretty decent, if they didn’t have each other as competition, there would be nowhere near as many additional cd bundles being released on what seems like an hourly basis. Both of their album sales would be significantly lower so I’d assume they’ve both benefitted greatly from this utterly toxic stan battle.

I don't think it's toxic per se to battle for #1? But the longevity will reveal if Kylie's casual fans are on board, not the first week campaigns. We know Little Mix has hits to back their album and that should do pretty well in coming weeks.

Kylie’s last studio album sold 48k with her GH last year opening with 31k.

Disco has outsold Golden based on the chart battle and amazing marketing and promo but it’s not outside it by a crazy amount so I think it will perform how Golden did overall.

Such an exciting week! Having two huge pop acts dominating the album chart is quite something!

I am team Kylie but I'm above all team POP so I'm more than happy with Kylie and LM healthy figures!

I just wish all chart weeks were as exciting as this one even if you aren’t fans of either artist the high sales and total commitment / excitement from both artists and both fanbases has been so good to see.

Fingers crossed Little Mix can get a BRIT best group and Kylie for international female next year after this battle.

Is there an up to date year album sales thread anywhere? Just wondered if either album would enter the Top 100 in the first week sales alone.

Or same fans with more money in their use :P

it's funny that you're always coming with some kind of shade for Kylie. She's a 52 years old woman, with 3 decades in this bussiness. It's obvious that LM will have a better run at this point, regardless Kylie having new fans on board or not.

Sorry but I'm a fan of hers!!!! She's amazing! But it's obvious that those 10k of extra sales coming after slower Sunday and Monday (two days of 2k/daily) come from people who are just collecting the units. You can clearly see it from posts in these topics.

Don’t forget sales will be lower because of the England lockdown....they needed to be creative this week to sell the physical copies that had been produced to make up for the fact every record shop is closed. Supermarkets are only stocking a few standard CD and the vinyl offering In Sainsbury’s is pretty poor now.. it’s mainly catalogue Vinyl.
