November 11, 20205 yr What a great boost to the album market I wanted LM to get it but I'm happy that Kylie gets it as she is a legend and she / her team have obviously planned release week perfectly.
November 11, 20205 yr I can see her doing 55/60k now. HMV data was missing yesterday, my orders still haven't dispatched. So that's probably just the HMV missing data? Nah, Bruce was at 45.2k on Wednesday and did under 52k in the end. Some cassettes and signed vinyls will not make that much difference as most of the people will not buy 10th copy of the album no matter what.

They’ve all sold out though Townsend Her store HMV Chalkys One show boosted all the standard editions This morning (still to come) Edited November 11, 20205 yr by Mr. C. Joel
November 11, 20205 yr I’m trying to get a last minute copy of Kylies album and every single copy of it on HMV is coming up saying it’s unavailable. I’m taking that as a sign there’s massive demand! Just seen she’s on This Morning tomorrow too with Alison and the interview looks so good! Signed CD & Signed Photo - https://townsendmusic.store/cart/product.php?id=72458
November 11, 20205 yr Are we still waiting for the cassette bundles being dispatched today or tomorrow for Kylie? Apparently the cassettes added around 2.5k on for Golden, and seeing as Kylie's label have stated the demand is higher this time around, I can't see them going for a lower number than last time. If they get dispatched today and added to tomorrow's figures, surely she is sat on around 47.5k? Plus 'The One Show' seems to have given a good little boost on iTunes and Amazon, so I can see Kylie nearing 50k tomorrow with a day to go. Could she actually end up beating Gaga's 52k and getting the highest sales figure of 2020? I think it is definitely possible at this point.

November 11, 20205 yr This is such an exciting week! It would be amazing if both acts can go over 50K! What a week for pure pop!

November 11, 20205 yr Hasn’t it just. Love a good old chart battle (been ages) and as you said great week for Pop music  Definitely! And I'm sure whoever wins, the other act still has 9 years to achieve their chart record! I'm sure it can happen for both at some point!
November 11, 20205 yr I’ve just gotten a signed print copy of Kylies now off Chalkys store as I wanted the deluxe. I’ve bought a copy of both Confetti and DISCO now so I’ve helped out both but I had to help Kylie out with this album as it is just that good!

November 11, 20205 yr The Album from Kylie is soooo goood Disco has exceeeded my expectations beyond. Every single song i love and sing along too
November 11, 20205 yr Totally this - in a dying physical market LM and Kylie deliver I mean let's be honest a dying physical market is what is making this possible for both. I remember back in the day Tori Amos had the deluxe of her American Doll Posse discounted as the postcards were deemed too much of an incentive/too good value for money to be eligible. Now the OCC accepts anything, they will take any sale. Heck the OCC used to limit it to 3 formats only too. Obviously LM and Kylie are just taking advantage of the situation like everyone else but it won't be sustainable and in 2 years this tactic will be over when the OCC is forced to weight streaming heavier and heavier on the albums chart.

November 11, 20205 yr This is no dig but it amazes me how many of the same album fans are prepared to by. Does anyone actually have a vinyl, a cassette player, a CD player, and all the money to freely splash on whatever new incentives these girls drop? I can’t imagine doing more than just downloading Confetti as I have, and maybe I’d get the vinyl if I had a player.

November 11, 20205 yr Forced by who & for what reason? Consumers, as streaming grows physical sales die and Kylie and LM flogging 15 formats in 1 week make no difference to that. Physical sales will still trend down year on year and streaming will have to take up the slack. I mean we are at the stage already where selling 1m albums is almost impossible.

I said this yesterday and honestly I can see the appeal in terms of collecting the items and having the full set (especially if you're a huge fan of the artist) because I think I'd probably do that if I could afford it, but I can't relate to anyone buying multiple formats JUST to help the sales.
