I don't see the problem with the advert? It's not that bleak at all and a good message and frankly, I think people do need reminding as much as we'd love to enjoy Christmas, we're not out of the woods yet with this!

The worst thing is the choice of song, ew x

Yes, got a bit scared with the reported rise in London cases.

Well good on you Chris, I know it’s tough but it’s worth trying and it’ll help you and others!

I know. They're bearable but I don't stay long on the bus or in Asda or Tesco, 30 mins max. but a bit uncomfortable.

Shops will be jam-packed today and next weekend. We went yesterday afternoon and Tesco was very very busy. You can't really social-distance properly when it's so busy. I think they should limit people in as they were doing during first lockdown and seemed to work well. I never waited outside more than 10 min which was fine if it wasn't raining.

Exactly it’s only a short time anyway.

Two people on my bus currently sitting without one, brass neck imo.

Yeh they should limit people in but won’t as they are looking money and won’t care about customer safety.

On one bus last week there was a lady bus inspector supervising the newly trained driver. She wasn't letting anyone on without a mask with no exceptions. One lad asked if she could give him one so she said she hadn't any. He went to sit down and she told him they weren't moving unless he got off. He did after kicking the seats and with a torrent of foul abusive language at her. It was her fault according to him for not having any and she "deserved to die in agony" So you see what staff are up against with this rule.

Why didn’t he just say he was exempt ? Yeh know what you mean, people are arseholes when they don’t get what they want

He probably wasn't exempt!

You should write a letter to Tesco about this, saying you are in one of the vulnerable groups and didn't feel safe there because it was so busy.

You should also try going at a different time of day, are the mornings quieter there then?

The Government should seriously consider having military enforced local lockdowns even if it just for three weeks. December 27th - January 17th would be the ideal period when winter is normally at its height.

No they shouldn't. We don't live in a military state.

Yeah military enforced local lockdowns would lead to riots.

Haha I've been hearing that for 2 weeks.

Don't they need to give notice anyway so places can prepare? Like after lockdown II everywhere knew what tier they'd be in days before it actually happened.

Anyway, it's a complete free-for-all between 23rd and 27th then the whole country will be back in lockdown from January.

True, although I thought Matt Hancock was making a statement later.

Anyway- massive increases across London.

Yeah you are right looks like he is at half 3 today.

Those cases do not make for pretty viewing at all but at least London has plenty of hospital capacity (from what I understand anyway).

I hear London may be moving to Tier 3 later today..

Khan seems to want to split London in to two tiers as the rise in cases seems to be in the East End mainly, Havering, Newham, Barking, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, the poorer densely populated parts. The richer areas, like Central London, Westminster, Kensington etc have less cases and rising much slower. Khan says London's just too big to be confined to one tier.

MP's saying putting Central London back in to Tier 3 will be catastrophic for the economy when it's other areas that are highest.

If they do that how are they gonna prevent people in tier 3 zones hopping on the tube to go to pubs in tier 2 then...

Well obviously they can't. People will just flock in to the West End bars and restaurants.

Okay Hancock just announced Tier 3 for London midnight tomorrow. So non-food shops shut in run up to Christmas, their most profitable time. They won't be happy.

I’d feel more sorry for people who haven’t done their shopping yet.

Personally I did all mine in November online but there’s always people who seem to think they need to go in person just before the day.
