I don't usually do this (coz whatever is done, is done etc..) but FARC really had one of the very best entries of the year with Oonagh! Such an incredible pop song. Just so big, joyous and carefree :wub: I'm devastated it didn't get through :snif:

It is definitely in the same vein as Goliath, albeit has a kitsch/corny factor to it that that didn't have (the Xmas bells will do that to a song!). Goliath is slightly more 'anthemic in a pensive way'.

 

But yes I could certainly see it dark horsing somewhat with the silent majority and the big pop voters and quite possibly doing enough to secure the end of year No.1 for Altyr. I'd be incredibly surprised at it finishing above Aeroche, but it's certainly looking unlikely that it will be 110 points behind.

 

I really like it too, naturally, but it's an all or nothing in the votes kind of song. Where Goliath crossed over into the indie/alt/anything goes voters affections, I don't think Hallelujah will. But it will appeal big to the pop voters, how big is the question.
