It'll be interesting to see if Bad Habits going on ACR on its 12th week will be the cause of it dropping from #1, or if it would've dropped anyway due to his new track (or, very unlikely, if it manages to stay at #1 even while on ACR)

As it stands, there has been at least one #1 (without ACR) to last every number of weeks from 3-15, where some of these weeks were lost to ACR officially: 20 Wham! - Last Christmas [8 lost to ACR] 18

Opalite by Taylor Swift number 1 tonight on sales of 47,509 Man I Need by Olivia Dean at number 8 on ACR sales of 30,504 on ACR sales of but would still be number 1 on pre-adjusted sales of 60,057.

  • W/E 25/12/25 19 Last Christmas 18 I Believe 18 Ordinary 16 (Everything I Do) I Do It for You 15 Love Is All Around 15 One Dance 15 Dance Monkey 14 Bohemian Rhapsody 14 Shape of You 14 Despacito

Random bump for this to note that ACR hasn't affected the #1 spot at all so far this year (drivers license would have fallen off #1 anyway in week 10) - this is the furthest we've got into a calendar year without an ACR-induced swap since the rule was introduced.

I have noticed the number ones are being replaced by a new big hit a lot this year!

Unsurprisingly, we've now got our first "fake" #1 from Shivers, which is already the second longest-running fake #1 and could match Ed's own record of 3 fake weeks for Own It this week  will be interesting to see whether it becomes a real #1 at some point or not!

I'm thinking Shivers will become a real #1 this coming week, what with the 2nd run of the physicals and him doing the rounds on TV supporting the song.

So Bad Habits would have been a “true #1” for 13 weeks now - dangerously close to Bryan Adams territory!

Updated as Merry Christmas by Ed & Elton would only have been #3 if Wham! and Mariah weren't on ACR!

Updated for the last few weeks - Merry Christmas gained all three of its weeks at #1 due to ACR, matching Own It's record (both songs involving Ed). Speaking of Ed, Shivers is the first song to both gain and lose weeks at the top - it gained 2 and lost 1, putting it at a net gain of 1 week thanks to ACR.
Weeks at #1 gained because of ACR

Weeks at #1 lost because of ACR

1 Wham! - Last Christmas

You forgot to add 2 of the 3 weeks that Last Christmas 'lost' at no.1 while "Merry Christmas" was there officially.

Ahh yes as I posted in the sales thread I was thinking it was quite unusual to have a song both gaining and losing #1 weeks because of ACR, quite a unique set of circumstances leading to that so I wonder if that may remain the only one for some time.

Update

Weeks at #1 lost because of ACR

4 Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You

4 Tones and I - Dance Monkey

3 Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber - Despacito

3 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights

3 Wham! - Last Christmas

2 Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits

1 24kGoldn feat. iann dior - Mood

1 Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa - One Kiss

1 Drake - God's Plan

1 Ed Sheeran - Shivers

1 Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber - I Don't Care

1 Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill *

Really hope Kate does actually make #1 somehow, I didn't realise she's currently the only song to have been the 'true' number one without ever actually making it on the 'official' chart
I know there's a purpose to ACR but surely there's gotta be a way they can skirt round Kate as an exception when she was #1 without it. It's just as history making as going to a new peak of #2. OCC must be taking real notice on the comments section under their article :kink:

If they didn't change the rules when Mariah was denied a #1 peak (obviously before she got there regardless) then I don't see why this would make them change their minds...!

Afraid to Feel has become the fourth song to gain more than one extra week at #1, and third that hasn't actually been the "real" #1 (yet, anyway). Kate's lost 3 weeks, which would've been half of her total run at #1 in the "old rules" (aka Top 200 Combined) chart.

So we're still awaiting the first ever song to be denied any weeks at all at #1 because of ACR, that surprises me.

Edit: Although presumably this would have been Kate Bush if she weren't reset.

Bumping this as it seems inevitable that unless Dua sells a load of CD's we're gonna get an ACR induced #1 this week.

Also unsure if ACR affected #1 around Christmas last year as it doesn't seem to have been updated, can anyone confirm?

Ladbaby were the Christmas number 1 due to the ACR rule

1 - Ladbaby on SCR with 65,335 sales

2 - Wham! on ACR with 54,559 sales.

Another one to add to the list on tonight's chart

1 - What Was I Made For - Billie Eilish - SCR sales of 45,488

Sprinter - Dave / Central Cee down 1 - 10 on ACR figure of 23,017 but would still be number 1 if on SCR with total of 45,762.
