I want Justin to do it!

Ladbaby doesn’t deserve to the hold the title of the most Christmas number 1’s over the Beatles...

As much as I like him, 3 number one’s for the last 3 years will be so boring and NHS deserve the feature!

They wouldn't hold the title for the most Christmas #1s The Beatles have 4. They would tie with The Beatles and Spice Girls for most consecutive with 3.

Let's hope Jess Glynne beats them both then!

If that's not to be I'd rather have LadBaby than a cover of a song that's been kicking around the Top 10 for weeks anyway.

It's more of a remix than a cover.

I do wonder if it'll be combined with the original or not - depends on if 'Lay Me Down' was an exception or the precedent for this kind of thing. It would be in their best interest for it to be combined you'd think (even if it would be on ACR, it's not like the choir version is likely to get super high stream numbers anyway). Worst timeline: we get a LadBaby Christmas #1 and 2 versions of 'Holy' in the chart which would have been the #1 if they were combined.

(I actually quite like 'Holy' but not thrilled at the idea of a choir-ified version of it)

Couldn’t care less about this chart battle. Why can’t we have actual good music?

I echo this post

Would have been a lot easier LadBaby featuring Justin Bieber - Don't Stop Me Eatin'

Remember the days of actual decent music vying for the Xmas number 1?

Ah 2003 I miss you.

Even the novelty track that year was top notch!

I'm pretty sure the label can ask for the sales to be split, which as you say, would be in the best interest if they want a #1. I see no reason why they wouldn't allow it when it's been done before.

Artists who were once competing for Christmas Number 1, now doing a duet with each-other to try and get the Christmas Number 1...has this ever been done before? Or is this a little bit of history?
Holy I played again there it reminds me of the slower Macklemore songs in style particularly These Days. I can imagine a choir in it and it does fit with the style of music I think.

Not a duet, but I immediately thought of when Pete Waterman asked Cliff Richard to appear on Band Aid II because he'd beaten Kylie & Jason to Christmas #1 the previous year. Who of course also sang on Band Aid II.

I said the exact opposite of that :kink:

(my logic being that the choir version isn't likely to get many streams anyway, so having the streams from the original version count to the new version will be a net positive even if the song is on ACR - with that said, they could surely just have the versions combined and request an SCR reset which would be even more in their best interests)

Same here would sound quite good imo

Any legacy Rage Against The machine inspired campaigns this year?

David Bowie - Heroes in support of the NHS created by Jon Morter, and The Kunts with Boris Johnson is a F***ing *unt, also backed by Morter, but neither of them have got the numbers, thankfully.
