This episode, the ten remaining dolls compete in 'Who Wore It Best?'

 

The episode premieres on 28 Jan UK. Will Lawrence Chaney bounce back? Will Ellie Diamond get a third consecutive high? Will Veronica Green keep her momentum up? What will Ginny Lemon flash this week?

I'm ready for a sewing challenge! It's certainly a drag race staple and it can really throw a spanner in the works for some big hitters whilst bringing up some underrated queens! Divina's look out of plastic bags last year was stunning and possibly one of my favourites ever from this type of challenge, so hoping someone might be crafty enough to excel in this challenge rather than barely cope.

 

Ellie Diamond makes most her stuff right? I feel like she's one to watch for a potential win, there's also a few queens who I think might do AWFUL in this challenge :lol: Tia and Asttina come to mind!

I mean if what she's wearing is what she pays for and it's that bad I dread to think what her own work is like :lol:

 

Rooting for Ellie to win this one finally! *.* I feel like her or A'Whora will be ones to watch here, Ellie does indeed make all her own stuff and isn't A'Whora a fashion designer? If she doesn't win I could see having a "I should have won, I had it in the bag" moment of drama.

I feel like Ellie has this one in the bag, let's see.

A’Whora would definitely be the one to beat on this front, I’d have thought. But that obviously doesn’t mean she will, Crystal by experience would’ve been the top tip for last year and got beaten (incorrectly though, in my eyes).

 

I really struggle to see any scenario Tia will be able to do anything this episode :lol: So I’m praying she’s got a good lip sync in her because she’s too fun to go just yet. I’ve been singing FLASHBACKS! all week.

I have faith that Tia will MURDER a lipsync, she'll have to this week this anyway because I agree - I think I'd be astounded if she wasn't bottom 2 this week :lol:

I'm assuming that they're against one another judging by the pairing of "who wore it best?" which makes me think it's Ellie vs Lawrence. It might not be as clear cut as that though and I might not have understood the challenge, but I'd have expected Ellie to be able to design something better than Lawrence.

 

Rooting for Lawrence to get back on track this week though, so fingers crossed!

Yes, I would be massively surprised if one of A’Whora, Ellie or Lawrence didn’t win this one given they basically make all of their looks.

 

Having said that, Veronica also made her look last week so you never know. I wouldn’t count her out for doing well for a second week in a row too.

I'm gonna predict A'whora does well and thinks she has this in the bag, just misses out and the villainy RAMPS up as a result

I think she might be the reverse to the standard - I think the worse her looks get, the more I'll stan her.

I can see Veronica, Lawrence and Ellie doing the best I think- AWhora can design but has never had that impressive looks really- surely you’d think someone that could design woukd have a better taste level

I agree that Sister x2 should have been in the bottom two these past weeks, however she was rightfully the winner of her paring this week (not that she had much competition). There’s a lot to unpack after this episode - Ginny, Tia and Sister x2 have grown on me exponentially after sharing some heartwarming moments with us. Ginny’s story with her rocky upbringing and her gender-identity struggles was particularly upsetting to watch, but I’m thrilled to see her pulling through her self-esteem issues. This was very much a conversation that needed to happen on mainstream TV, specifically that pertaining to gender identities outside of cis/trans-male/trans-female.

 

Tia was HILARIOUS on the runway, and the moment Ru told her that she was staying you can see that she was in complete disbelief, but I agree with the decision; Asttina had talked herself up to be the formidable lip-syncer who’s effectively untouchable, but she was just ok for me. Tia, on the other hand, surprised me with how well she could move/deliver a lip-sync!

 

Lawrence deserved to win, she looked gorgeous. If this week had been judged like any other challenge then the top three most certainly would have been A’Whora, Ellie and of course Lawrence. Now, if I was judging I would have put Tayce in the top over A’Whora honestly... the rest of the placements were correct, though. It’s not that Asttina did a horrible job, she just barely did a job? Ginny going out of her comfort zone for the first time and really pushing herself is what kept her from the bottom two.

Really getting into the series after the last two episodes, just feel everything was too rushed in episode 1 compared to the slower start to the last two US series. Really liking a lot of the girls now!

 

Can’t believe Lawrence won this week, I don’t think she even won her pairing this week. Her yes her outfit looked great and was well constructed but she looked so old in it. Personally I’d have put Ellie, A’Whora and Bimini all above her this week. I really soured on her last week and this week didn’t help, tbh I think she only won because Ru is so enamoured with her.

 

Loving A’Whora, her outfit should have won IMO! Really enjoying her and Tayce together, they’re fun to watch and it was nice A’Whora was so willing to help Tayce out. Her comment about Tia were unnecessarily harsh but it’s quite refreshing seeing someone so unapologetically catty. Interested to see how her conversation with Tia goes down next week.

 

Tia is just so adorable and entertaining to watch, so happy she survived and put in a good lip sync to boot. Even her outfit, while not great, certainly wasn’t the worst that’s been on the runway by far and she was hilarious throughout the episode. Really like seeing Veronica stand up for her as well though while she undoubtably won her pairing I’m not massively sold on her style so far.

 

Felt for Ginny this week, was glad she got a good amount of airtime though and we got to learn more about her. She seems like such a sweetheart! Fair enough her outfit was extremely basic but she pushed outside her comfort zone and still looked good so happy she lasted another week. Was worried the extra focus on her this week was signalling her going home like what happened with Joe and Cherry so glad that wasn’t the case.

 

Has Asttina ever watched anime? Literally the only thing that remotely passed as such was the hair and even that’s a stretch. With such a basic outfit as well I’m not sad to see her go, especially after all that hype for her lip sync led to just a decent performance.

I thought that was absolutely the right decision based on tonight, Ginny and Tia undoubtedly had the worst outfits but I think Ginny pushing herself so far out of her comfort zone in itself was enough to save her, I think that was a hurdle to overcome and then also to have to make the outfit to go with that leap on top of it was another hurdle. That sounds like I'm making excuses but for me, I'd rather see somebody really push themselves out of their comfort zone and not quite smash it, than someone like Assttina talking herself up SO much and coming up with... that. Her look was SO basic, it didn't even read anime like she said. If she'd gone full on anime make-up, bigger hair, it could have been great, it wasn't bad it just so barely there that it deserved bottom 2 to be honest. I LOVE anime aesthetics in drag, but this felt like what you'd dress up as if the guy you had a thing for said he liked anime and you'd never even so much as glanced at an episode of Sailor Moon. I didn't take to Assttina either, she spent all of her time on the show talking up how she's such a great performer and singer, she was forgettable in the Rusical, and barely did anything in that lipsync. It wasn't a BAD lipsync, she didn't do a bad job at anything, but the amount she hyped herself up, when it came to it, she never really delivered anything apart from that East London look week 1.

 

Tia of course looked awful but I can't help but stan, I've said this before but she just has so much charisma and charm to her, I love that she just accepts the critiques she gets with grace and a sense of humour. It's annoyingly rare, queens usually would rather get defensive and/or pretentious over it so I just find it refreshing that even in her failures, Tia takes it in good spirits and gets on with it, makes you love her during it. And her lipsync was great, at the end of the day I'd rather see a queen in a shoddy outfit perform the house down like Tia than somebody who looks good and hasn't got the performance to back it up. The way I look at it, anyone can buy a stunning look from a designer, but not just anyone can have the charisma and personality that Tia exudes.

 

Lawrence I'm not MAD at winning, but I preferred Ellie's look tbh! Both of those two I'd have put top 2 with normal judging though, Bimini was my next fave I just LOVE her style, I'm always waiting to see what she brings to the runway. A'whora's was good too, but I'm glad she didn't win, she's just coming across nasty to me, and I think it's insecurity. She was mad she didn't get her moment to win a challenge she felt was right up her street and took it out on Tia which wasn't needed. It's not like Cherry was a shock elimination anyway?! She had a muted/forgettable run really, Tia smashed it last week so clearly did well enough to stay. I'd get it a bit more if Tia had for example been shit int he Rusical and stayed over Cherry. A'whora is acting like Cherry won 3 challenges and lost to Tia who's been bottom 8 times I cba

Was sure Ru was going to save Asstina - but so happy that she saved Tia - was so deserved!

 

Her runway look was awful but she has such a lovely personality and Asstina was just so one note - a look and that wasn’t great this eve.
