Why they'd do so, I have no idea. From this tweet in 2022 and this one from 2020, the organisers themselves don't know why The Justice Collective isn't on Spotify! Hopefully someone like Pop Music Activism can look into it, as it was one of the better charity singles that made Christmas number 1.As for Bob the Builder, that's up to BBC Worldwide Music. Frankly, I don't know why any major single wouldn't be on streaming services, because it's just turning down free income, while making the song inaccessible for fans. I get some artists may have moral reasons for not wanting them on there, but I doubt Bob is one of them. It's pretty strange that we had to wait until 2025 for Blobby on Spotify - as polarising as it is as a song, the fact is that there is a version of it by an artist called Kidzone which has 687k streams! So there are definitely plenty of people who have searched for it.

December 3, 2025Dec 3 I already added Mr Blobby to my 'new' music playlist. Can't wait to chart it in a few weeks. I bought the cassette single twice back in '93 because I somehow lost the first one. He's unconventional in hue!
December 3, 2025Dec 3 Showing my 42-year-old age here but we SO need I Want To Be (Elected) by Mr. Bean & Smear Campaign ft. Bruce Dickinson next. If you've never seen the video, DO.We do seem to lose out a lot when it comes to novelty singles. A lot of them were released on long-forgotten independent labels and nobody knows who owns the rights etc. Edited December 3, 2025Dec 3 by HiyaLuv!

Despite the limitations of his poor co-ordination, he's sure to show the world a thing or two. There wasn't much like it before and there hasn't much been since...although with the tempo/rhythm changes maybe you could say it paved the way for Biology 12 years later, if you were making one of the boldest claims in pop history. If we all club together to chart it, we can get it in the Multichart. WE'LL GIVE IT A GO! Edited December 4, 2025Dec 4 by HiyaLuv!

Is that flatulence at the start and mid points of this songs too? It’s got that very early 90’s sound to it which I like, it reminds me of some of the children’s shows I use to watch when I was little and I can see myself having loved this as a 5 year old in 1993.Was it the theme song for the show?

December 5, 2025Dec 5 It’s weird but I genuinely didn’t think I’d ever pine for a really big new novelty song at the top, just to bring back a bit of fun and variety to the charts, but here we are!Oh for a Blobby, Bob, Teletubbies or even a Star Trekin or Sugar Sugar!

February 9Feb 9 Can we get an updated list of these? I'm guessing a lot of things have changed since the thread was originally posted.I have decided to do something a lot of people have attempted and started my 73.5-year #1s marathon at 1am with Al Martino. Am just coming up to 1958 now. Flying through these (Spotify Mix being brutal has helped) but my progress may slow down massively when we get to the 1990s in particular. Then speed up again when streaming fecks up the chart. I want to do this properly so need to know when to go to YouTube when I have to, I refuse to skip a thing! Many thanks. Right now I can only think of The Stonk, The Chicken Song and the real version of Toca's Miracle that are still missing from streaming but guessing there are many more even in 2026. I barely touch the 1950s in my general day-to-day listening so this has been a nice change. Diana by Paul Anka who is brilliantly still alive is my first 10/10 so far, always loved it! Can definitely hear a lot of Lana Del Rey in some of the slower orchestral numbers. Wish me luck. Edited February 9Feb 9 by HiyaLuv!
February 10Feb 10 IMO, the only #1 that has no chance whatsoever of hitting streaming is Perfecf Day, sadly.
