April 3, 20214 yr I liked this episode - it had some good humour and some strong performances Rose was the obvious winner - I wasn’t wowed by either the performance or runway but she was consistently good Symone grew into her performance. Her runway outfit was to die for Gottmik I initially found one note but a good performance and runway Kandy was Kandy again in the performance and her runway was shocking - soooo bad that two runways in quick succession have been bad It was Olivia’s time to go - she just can’t push herself to be at the same level as the others Kandy definitely needs to finish 4th - the other 3 are so much stronger
April 3, 20214 yr Rose was definitely the star of the challange; a deserved win. While I think Symone did very well and Gottmik was pretty decent as well, everyone except for Rose were just relying on characters they have played before and that's getting a bit boring. Symone's runway was fantastic though!! I also really enjoyed the lip sync, finally a good song again, and I really think Kandy did a good job and deserved to stay.
April 3, 20214 yr I thought the challenge was so boring/bland?! It was Kandy being Kandy, Olivia being Olivia, Gotmik being Gotmik and Symone being Symone. Rose was the only one who seemed to try to put on some sort of character. Not to mention the writing for the challenge wasn't very funny - but that could be in part due to sub-par delivery from most of the queens. Gotmik's runway was amazing. Loved it. Symone and Rose looked good too. Kandy was awful, yet again. Kandy is one of the worst runway queens I've seen for a while. Most of her runways seem so messy or bad. Olivia looked great but the outfit didn't fit the theme. Glad Olivia is gone, she hit a ceiling a few weeks ago and hasn't progressed much at all. It was her time to go. I assume the three more epsisodes are next week's song episode, the reunion and then the finalé?
April 3, 20214 yr I really can't think of many queens other than maybe Silky who has got away with quite so much than Kandy. She should've got DRAGGED for that outfit and playing herself YET again. I am now Olivia fan but she did well in the challenge, her outfit was gorgeous and ....I didn't get the critiques? Sigh, Kandy has really ruined this series for me and I don't even blame her or hate HER as such. Moreso the favourable judgings, the overedit to have her in the spotlight and getting away with so much shit.
April 3, 20214 yr The challenge was fine but no standouts and not exactly memorable either — like others have said, they just played themselves and it was one note. April 4, 20214 yr Author The queens this season do broadly feel a level down from season 12 imo Most of this top 4 are on I would say Brita's level from that season - strong, but outclassed on a lot of challenges. No-one this season feels as versatile as Jackie, Crystal, Widow or Jaida.

April 4, 20214 yr I'm sorry BRITA on the level of Mik, Symone and Rosé? :rofl: Widow didn't do well in anything either really except week 1. Mik and Symone at the very least have brought fashion or high concepts and creativity every single time they've gone on the runway, but look at Mik's Snatch Game, Symone's FOUR wins, and Rosé pretty much smashing things in every area. Each to their own but I think people are doing WAY too much on tearing absolutely everything about this season down just because it's gone on a bit. I do think outside of the three front runners here, a lot of season 12 which was one of the strongest main season casts overall imo, could have done really well this season over some of the ones who got a bit higher in this season.
April 4, 20214 yr Oh I think Widow did really well and was extremely harshly judged- the improv, acting and Madonna challenge she did fabulous in and the fact she didn’t get placed high is definitely the reason she came to such a harsh stop in the competition because she was made to believe she wasn’t performing well! She is one of my fave personalities in years and i’m super excited to see her on All Stars!

Brita & Widow do pretty good live shows - which to me is what drag is about. I can't imagine what Symone or Mik would serve really, aside from walking about and posing in expensive clothes someone else made for them, and by that point, aren't you just basically a model? At least Mik could possibly turn her hand to hosting. Of this top 4 the only one whose shows I think would be reliably good would be Rose. Sure these are only opinions, not to come for anyone, but imo Widow was pretty good at acting and pretty funny, a great dancer too. Brita is great at hosting and decent at comedy, just was screwed over a bit by the challenge order. As to the loads of wins I just think season 13 had a lot of queens that weren't that high-level. So the ones that were that bit better could easily clean up. If e.g. Gigi Goode had been on this season - and the win awarding hadn't been rebalanced to make it more fair - I could see her easily picking up 6 or 7 wins out of these challenges, vs this cast. Or even someone like Jackie who didn't do the best on her original season - I could see her acing season 13's Ad, Snatch Game, Improv & maybe also the 1st acting challenge. Having said that, I am biased for not particularly being set alight by this season or these queens.

At least Mik could possibly turn her hand to hosting. I'd agree with Gottmik, but I think Symone is a good performer/ lip syncer and I would actually love to see a show of her. Think it could be quite creative as well, as she does have comedy talent. It hasn't always shown in the challenges, but she is very funny.
April 6, 20214 yr I think it's kind of narrowing what drag "is" or "should be" to say that someone won't be good in a club setting or that they're not funny enough so aren't good enough, Symone hasn't even won any look challenges apart from the makeover, she's excelled mostly in acting and comedy. Plus Gottmik slayed a roast and won Snatch Game, I think now she knows she can do it (she said herself she wasn't sure about Snatch Game and was dreading the roast), Gottmik could be great on one of those roast tours or something. A lot of queens just kind of shut off or don't try when it's not their challenge, but I love that she just went for it anyway and slayed both of those! Plus of course club settings and shows are how queens outside of the show tend to make their living, and that's great, but Drag Race going mainstream and giving queens a platform pushes them in so many different directions, I think Gottmik could be similar to Violet and Aquaria and do really well in fashion which would be amazing not just for a drag artist but also for a trans man. It's not really only about shows. If that's what you like about drag and what you want from a queen, fair enough. Also omg yes Gigi not being bottom for politics was rigga morris, I liked her a lot but she was definitely protected looking back, them adding her in a win for the RuMix which didn't have a winner since Season 9's Category Is as well!
