Pop Forum Song Contest IX: Celebrating pride!

 

 

Welcome everyone! This is my very first time in hosting a song contest on a public forum, so please bear with me from all the mishaps I'm going to make during the month. :D Before I proceed with a lot of details, let's bring forth the winning artist last edition -- Lilith Czar. She won PFSC VIII: Goes Rock with King, and has since released a new album named "Created From Filth And Dust" which includes this winning track. Below is another fantastic single by her!

 

 

In this new edition, we are celebrating Pride Month so the entry y'all be sending should be related to LGBTQIA+. It is a good time to recognise and complement all the LGBTQIA+ artists and allies for their hard work in their career as their songs often encourage us to become a stronger person and make us feel proud of ourselves. There are a few good resources that you may find useful in selecting your entry for this contest but you are free to use any other methods to search your entry!

 

Qreview LGBTQ Music Project has been a great and fundamental source of LGBTQIA+ new music for my charts and new music discovery every week. They have a playlist named "New Queer Friday" updated every Friday with a great list of songs by LGBTQIA+ artists. Maybe you can find a good number of great songs each week:

 

Most recently, Nettwerk Music, a music label that I follow, has released a Pride playlist that contains artists under their label (e.g. wrabel) and other famous singers. Their playlist is here:

 

Aside from the above, let's remind ourselves the veto rules:

1. The song must not have reached the top 100 in the UK chart.

2. The Artist must not have an Artist Forum on Buzzjack.

3. Any song that we feel is giving other songs an unfair advantage (eg, Sales) or somewhat fits the veto rules (popular on the forum) will still be vetoed.

4. For this contest, we are intrigued by artists that are perhaps not known outside of their own country. We want to discover the best of pop.

5. An artist will only get one entry per contest, so first come first served.

6. The song must not have been a top 20 hit in another song contest on the site. However, a song that has previously been entered into these contests (e.g. BJSC spin-offs) may still be vetoed.

The song must also be reasonably pop (how it is defined is at the discretion of the mods :P ). Do not tell anyone what song you have sent!

 

You may begin sending your entries until Wednesday, 16 June 2021, 23:59 BST (GMT+1)!
