Well that's good that the OneRepublic error has been fixed before the end of the week (it definitely seemed highly suspect - legit did one of the streaming services just accidentally add an extra 0 onto its numbers or something lmao?) but that just makes it rather embarrassing that the OCC even went out of their way to make a news article specifically about it appearing in the midweek charts and quoting its blatantly incorrect streaming figures. Like did it not set off a common sense check for them when they saw it appearing that high?

Errors happen, if you remember 4 years ago Eminem charted with In Your Head in the top 20

and we were all like How can it be? cos it was one of the less streamed album tracks

and it turned out to be an error, they gave it the streams of another track...

but the OCC never questioned it for a second...

 

think with One Direction there was some error once...

Really happy for them, but I wish it wasn't that awful, unlistenable cover that was so high! Literally 98% of any of their other songs would be better!!!

If it wasn’t for the OCC error I would never have known about ‘Run’ - I checked it out after their report and have been streaming it non-stop since, it’s a bop :cheer:

I don't think Doja Cat's album will be big enough for 'Kiss Me More' to fall behind 3 other songs on ACR.

That was when 'You and I' charted at 19 and 'Don't Forget Where You Belong' charted at 21 on 7 Dec 2013 and those positions have never been corrected. I don't know the exact reasons as to why these songs shouldn't have been allowed - something to do with instant gratification rule which I never really understood - and I do understand all the current chart rules now. Anyone here know?

I think we don't technically know for sure what happened but from observing the iTunes chart at the time it appeared that all the pre-order sales for their album on iTunes also got added to the individual sales for both songs as if they were instant grats, and that glitch somehow made its way into the official chart.
