#1 Lil Nas X 7,705

#2 Drake 7,292

Damn, at that rate I can't see LNS holding on until the end of the week unfortunately.

drake will probably be about 100 behind tomorrrow and should finish ahead by around 200-300 copies probably :(
Someone remind me, what's the record for lowest weekly sale for a #1 album? We can't be far off it. I know it was 'Talk That Talk' for ages but didn't Dua break it more recently?

Yes, Dua has the record with 7,317 in one of its weeks at #1 last year, so that won't be broken this week. I think (based on the last few years at least) Pop Smoke has the lowest sale for a 1-week #1 with 9,665, and Mogwai have the lowest sale for an album that entered at #1 with 10,456.

Yes, Future Nostalgia did 7,317 on 21/05/20.

Evermore is the lowest this year with 7,330 on 14/01

Physical copies would have easily got Lil Nas X the #1.

Sad that it might fall short with very little in it because it’s a great album.

Interestingly if Drake does reclaim the #1 this week it won't be the first time he had an album start with a chart run like this - 'Views' went 1-4-1. Somehow I don't see CLB going on to have 22 weeks in the top 10 like 'Views' did though.

(I don't recall how 'Views' managed to reclaim #1 in its third week - in the second week it was pushed down by debuts from Radiohead and Skepta but also by Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' which fell 2-3, so not sure how Drake managed to reverse that trend and get back ahead of Beyoncé in his third week!)

Also must be pretty rare if not a first for an album to have multiple weeks at #1 without ever being #1 in a midweek update?

Drake more than likely to take the number 1 album :( although i would prefer Lil Nas X to hold on despite not been really a fan of either but out of the 2 i prefer Lil Nas X.
I noticed they dropped the price on iTunes for LNX album but not sure if that'll have much of an effect
Lil Nas X must be steaming he got the record in so late, would have certainly shipped a few thousand vinyls - not sure if they'd have been listened to mind rather than used as wall art.

If I haven't got my dates mixed up, I think "Lemonade" had its physical release in its 3rd week ("Views"'s 2nd) giving it a temporary one week jolt.
